The could build there own? great response.....

So the works team sucks up the cost of engine development while the customer team can spend their budget on aero....yeah seems fair Or we go back to the days of teams having 1 year old engines...sounds great for the sport.....

Why would it be any different than it is now? Budget cap isn't starting next year, it's been in place for awhile now and the engine manufacturers are still the one's developing the PU's.

I am sure you can work out why the works team would not want to spend 90% of their budget on engine, while the customer team gets that engine and can spend 90% of their budget on aero....but maybe not?

"The boss of the Milton Keynes team stated, according to what was reported by the GPFans media outlet, that the status of new participant as an engine manufacturer starting from 2026 will confer a ‘bonus’ for the expenses related to the power units – which will be introduced – equal to 10 million dollars for the first two years, with another 5 million ‘extra’ in the third year, 2028. In addition, alongside the economic bonus, more hours of dynamic"bench testing are foreseen."

I don't know if I should laugh or feel reassured: Toto is afraid that the VW group (Porsche and Audi) and RB will cheat on the engines.
We have to recognize him as a great talent on this subject

The longer they're in a squab about the regulations, the more likely it is that the new engines will get pushed back to 2027 which would be very good news for us considering the engine freeze

It could be a good thing for us, i didn't think about it
But if the new rules condition the arrival of VW, I have no doubt that the negotiations will succeed. There's probably way too much money involved

I am sure the current budget cap rules doesn't cover engine development. FIA want to introduce budget cap for engine from 2026.

So lh wants a South African GP.... well, if he wants it... who are we to differ.....
Considering SA's issues with Corruption, Crime, Load Shedding, and MUCH MORE.... yes, the hosting of a F1 gp is REALLY high on the population's needs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Stefano already talked about a race there, won't be up to Lewis.

A race at Kyalami would be awesome and great for the many fans of the sport in South Africa.

I have been to Kyalami for a F1 race in the past, and yes it would be great for the fans, but financially.... not so much, and there are SO many other avenues where funds are needed in SA right now, that spending a few millions on hosting F1 there, would be rather sad, considering all the really bad stuff going on there now!

Merc PU is the least competitive this season in contrast to Ferrari. You slap the latter onto an Aston Martin and it will eat Merc.

There are plenty of races on the calendar that are in countries with horrific crimes and plenty of corruption. I don't think a race track venue represents the entire country's "evil". Though any country that has bombs and missiles flying around, I'd say it's a good idea to stay clear from... but the FIA feels otherwise.

South African here A race at Kyalami would be amazing! We have a huge following for racing in general and I can guarantee you it would be a sold-out event year after year. As mentioned by Riccardog, yes we have a lot of corruption, we have load shedding etc, but that hasn't stopped F1 from going to tracks that in my eyes have much worse human right issues than South Africa. It would be great for our country's tourism, great for morale, and overall would be great for South Africa as a whole. I'd even say a street race in Cape Town, which is run by the opposition party might be more appealing to some, but I can't tell you how amazing it would be to see my home country host an F1 GP again... everyone loves a good comeback story and i cant imagine a better track thn Kyalami!!
