Charles was 0.091 s off in S1 and 0.283 s or something like that down in S3. Both sectors are essentially the same, so it's quite clear that he has a couple of tenths in the bag for the final split. He was slower than Magnussen in that part of the racetrack for example. Basically six tenths up on Hammy in the mid. I assume Mercedes run their car very high to avoid it bouncing too much and will destroy their tyres that way tomorrow by sliding around in the twisty parts.

Even with Lec I didn’t see any one ahead of him nor in between.

Lec had traffic before the final corner, BUT i m not sure how much it affected him. On his radio ,where he refered on his "strangle" in S3 ,he didint mention trafic so.......
the thing is that up to now everything is on the edge and in a corner you can win /lose the pole !!!
Also Merc have deffinetly close the gap so they will be in the mix ,or not ??
so many question marks that will take a few races to answer !!!
    FERRARI FOR EVER !!!!!!!

So after FPs where do you think we stand ? Are we hiding a bit or RBs are clearly in front ?

Sand and wind condition could also play a huge role in lap time here

I’m aware that he mentioned It wasn’t his perfect lap & loosing sometime in S3 compared to others.

But right through FP’s, we are gaining in S2 & loosing much time in S3. If you look at other way around Haas is closer to us in S3, which tells me ferrari can find more time there.

Exactly my feeling...he clearly mentioned that we will lose a lot of time in S3 compared to other teams. Still I feel the lack of top speed is a setup choice Ferrari has to make and nothing to do with traffic etc in Quali sims.

i think it is very close and i do not think anyone is hiding anything at this point.
RB is probably the team to beat but Ferrari could still get pole.

considering where we come from, i am happy that Ferrari looks like it can and will fight for wins this year.

That is, sand on track and sand in bags.

here's my theory, we're fastest in slow corners

but we went with a low downforce setup, to sacrifice it slightly, and we still haven't turned the engine all the way up

    Leclerc pole
