Nothing wrong with rain shake up the event, hell it needs something to spice things up a little.Besides cooler temp will suit ferrari better. Now floor heights will be checked red bull does not like this i guess there fire works and sparks show is going to concluded.

I agree with you on rain to spice things up. But if it is going to rain like on those videos, there will be no racing. On the other hand cooler temperatures, rain, SC, could help CL with that 10 grip penalty

I don’t have any hope on Carlos given his current struggles.

We have unreliable championship winning car. Unless a miracle(RB DNF’s) i don’t see how ferrari can close the points gap & win the title.

Would make sense to take the penalty here under these conditions. Ferrari nothing to loose.
    It could be a lottery.

Even if it means leaving the races in an ambulance Lewis and Carlos just not complain!! They get paid to race.

seeing the weather outlook, should Ferrari not choose to bring the 4th engine, new turbo heck, all MGU bits and anything else, underwear if needed, and take the heap of penalties in one go, there will be SC aplenty, and Charles can make his way easily under these conditions, probably not into the podium positions, but will give him better hope at another venue???

Considering that Ferrari right now is in need of time in order to apply a perm. fix, I think they need to bite the bullet and take the penalty.
A new engine should be reliable enough given the weather conditions and a non-perm fix to give an advantage over the other cars and we should be able to hunt the RBRs.

    10 place drop confirmed.. dammit
So Charles is going to be 11-12th? is there any point watching now? I don't see Carlos challenging Max to the win.

If taking this penalty in Canada and the engine goes pop again, where will that leave us? Continuous penalties for the rest of the season will destroy most of us, and suggesting that Charles could steam through the pack from a mid-grid start in the wet is asking one hell of a lot.

Carlos will be running with a throttled PU, so definitely not.

The car is very fast, starting from 11, if we start ok and nothing bad happens in the first round, we 'll cruise thru the competition.
The engine should be fine, nothing like Baku and I think we should easily go for P2 to P4.

This is the best race to get the 10 place deficit out of the way.

Could not agree more. Hopefeully we will still have higher power modes available for defending/overtakes/qualifying, but we'll just have to lift and coast more when this engine gets too hot. Until we get an upgrade later. I want to keep these components until Belgium.

Charles just needs to stay clean at the start, you can't win the race in 1 lap. And this track has a lot of walls, and Latifi loves walls, so a safety car would make everything to play for.

Not sure how this is possible because Ferrari "does not bring updates".

We now have a car with enough straight line speed to not get overtaken. If Red Bull can't beat us at Baku, where can they?

    way to miss the point,

Charles was managing pace on the hard tyre, he was good to the end.

It would have been an easy win for Leclerc. He would have either stayed out till the end or came in during the Magnussen DNF virtual safety car and passed Verstappen with brand new tires.

Either way it was game over for Verstappen because they slept on the first virtual safety car.

It is what should have been scenario, and I would like the scenario in which his engine did not blow and he won the race, but unfortunatelly it was not like that. We move on!

Oh Wisepie you are in a negative mood but I cannot blame you after the last 3 races.
As for Charles coming up through midfield on a wet track a difficult ask. i agree with you there

I hope you're right about the weather and that by some miracle Charles does make it through the first laps unscathed and mounts a challenge thereafter. There is hope then, and for your sake at the circuit, even more so!

I know I sounded negative, you know me well enough to understand my worries and looking ahead may be full of them, but I'll try to be positive. We've been through the rough and the smooth with our team over the years and I haven't abandoned it yet and there's not enough lifespan left for this old crony to change his allegiance!

those first few laps and a wet qualy are my biggest fears this weekend, ironically it isn't the reliability

The whole weekend fills me with fear. But we need to remain optimistic or there would be no need for Ferrari to turn a wheel
