Binotto says the news of his sacking is NOT true:

“After what was written, I spoke with President John Elkann. We had open discussions and decided that the best way to silence the rumours is to issue a statement.”

“The rumours are false, without foundation.”

    Mattia Binotto:

“I’m pretty relaxed. I always have open, frank and constructive discussions with my bosses.”

“Also, looking back at the season, we had a few ups and downs, but we achieved our main objective – to be competitive in the new era of 2022 cars.”

What to say…P6 and P7. After the way this year started, unbelievable how it is ending. And Mattia is completely content with it all.

What are they worried about? It’s the last race, who cares if our engines go boom. You say we detuned them for reliability? Well here is your chance to turn them right up to test for next season. Obviously that 7 tenth increase is just another silly rumor…we will probably loose 7 tenths from this year rather than gaining it. Sorry to be so pessimistic, but this team is so frustrating and leaves us no hope for next year.

It's not just the engines but the tyre deg which is proving a huge problem, our season really disintegrated after the summer break and TD39 nonsense, all brought about by Mercedes who were the only beneficiaries. I am pleased the season is ending to give us a break from the disappointment and frustration we've had to suffer, along with our drivers.

Hoping for a good weekend, which in my mind would be either a race win or third place in the constructors' standings.

Sorry to be a party pooper, but neither of that will happen!

So we sacrificed 2019, 2020 and 2021 for 2022. All to likely end up third…

Now we have sacrificed 2022 for 2023. When does it pay off? I still don’t believe any of these rumours…no way we are unlocking 7 tenths.

I'll believe the rumors when I see them.

Ferrari are just so pitiful to watch.

RB is good everywhere. No wonder this car is so dominant.

I was expecting Sainz to get on the front row, considering he just took a new engine less than a week ago.

We have to make a big step next year, especially in season development. Year in year out, we make more steps back during a season. Unacceptable.

Their in season development was always a hallmark. Once again they showed the same this season.

Mercs & RB in season development are top notch. I hardly remember when did ferrari got right except last season might be.

And even 2022 it was more to the new ERS. What a shame.

we sacrifice every year for the season that hardly comes. They must ask themselves why, and ask deeper & work smarter, instead of coming back with the same lame excuse every year

Seb just said he talked to Charles just recently & told him that now that he is gone, he needs to keep pushing at Ferrari. He told Charles that he always wanted a street named after him in Maranello (inside the factory building).

Seb: "Now make sure you [Charles] get one."

    Simon Lazenby on Carlos Sainz:

“Ferrari are really impressed with his ability to make decisions.”

“When called upon, he makes the decisions, and the team are happy to go with it. Perhaps that’s not been the case with Charles, and that’s an area where he needs to work on.”

Quali restored my faith slightly with P3/4 but we know that RB and Merc have better race pace/tyre deg so I'm still expecting Charles and Ferrari to lose both P2s tomorrow. I know I am being pessimistic and that's as far as my faith goes, but if we manage to retain those positions it will feel like a victory.
