    Sprint Shootout on Saturday will now set the grid for F1Sprint:

    Q1: 12 minutes (Medium tyres)
    Q2: 10 minutes (Medium tyres)
    Q3: 8 minutes (Soft tyres)

    Sprint Shootout replaces FP2 on the schedule.
    Unchanged Friday qualifying will set Sunday’s F1 race grid.

    Yet more changes to the weekend format, just to add to the confusion for this old-school F1 fan.

    Suppose it might make the sprint a bit more of an event since it won't hurt your race on the Sunday.

    And if that wasn't enough changes now they have changed the number of power units allowed before incurring penalties.

    About right.
    Probably to increase the numbers through the gate Friday and Saturday........it's all about money with Liberty and we thought Bernie was a pain.

    Main straight DRS activation zone has been cut by 100m.

    2023-->DRS activation2 447m after Turn20

    2022-->DRS activation2 347m after Turn20

    RedBull have streamlined their sidepod air inlet and have a new mirror mount.....obviously for more high speed.

    Once again, all the prior rumors about Ferrari's upgrades for Baku are proven to be false. Mercedes brought a new diffuser and a new low DF RW, Red Bull raised the sidepod inlet, Aston with a new low DF RW as well, Mclaren brought new floor and new beam wings.

    Ferrari on the other hand brought the Bahrain spec low DF RW.

    Edit: Forgot to mention Mclaren

    to be fair, i keep reading over the last week that the team had desided not to bring any updates in Baku due to this "special" session format and no time to evaluate the updates. They only worked on various set-up configuration on suspension -aerodynamics-pu etc.
    They say they are confident from what they saw. So i think that in the race we will see if once again they failed,not that they didn't draught any updates

    It was clear that nothing big was planned for this weekend, why are you suprised? There isn’t really time to even test anything, good decision.

    Except most of the teams brought a Baku low DF package. Baku is absolutely a lower DF track than Bahrain, so it's sad Ferrari brought nothing.

    I'm surprised with your post. "It was clear", clear to whom? Only you I guess.

    RB and Mercedes brought hefty numbers of upgrades. Go check the FIA website you'll have your answers. Ferrari only brought the Bahrain low DF RW.

    In this current age of simulation and CFD's, it is comical to suggest that teams need "time" to verify upgrades. Do you think RB and Mercedes blindly put new parts on their cars?

    I think you misread the articles....all major upgrades planned for imola onwards. Ferrari clearly stated that for Baku they want to try out new setups which they fine tuned in sims. But anyway I understand your frustration my friend.

    It wasn't just the media. Fred himself said that there would be upgrades around either Australia or Baku.

    They had a four weeks break after Australia, that's why I was expecting to see some upgrades there.

    Charles is a king around Baku
    Even with a car that 0.2-0.3s slower than Red Bull I'll still expect him on pole there

    P2 in the only FP session for Charles and P4 for Carlos, I'd like to think we're not being given false hopes, best of luck for a decent weekend for a change.
