Race pace is ok, but just watched onboard from Leclerc as he tried to run 2 laps behind traffic trying to overtake and wasn't able to... If we'll take the penalty the race will be a horror.

Btw fastest race pace goes to Alonso.

He wasn't trying to overtake. You don't do that around a moron like Stroll and risk damage in practice.

Not saying Ferrari have reserve pace, just being fair.

Not sure why would he run 2 laps behind him. I would have thought it was a test of how well the overtaking can be done, but that's just me.

saving the engines? so change in strategy.

we definitely have the power, just whether or not we can use it without the thing blowing. There's time to be found on the straights.

Unless we're not running the Baku wing..

    Charles Leclerc is taking a new ICE (3), MGU-H (3), MGU-K (3) and new CE (2).

But no turbocharger. So no penalty for now.

I’ll hold my comments about performance until Q3. Leclerc always finds the speed when it’s time. However, if we are well off the pace after this TD I will lose it.

Looks like Ferrari might be doing a strategic move for Charles.

Today, Ferrari changed to a new ICE, MGU-H, MGU-K and CE (no new turbo).

Tomorrow they will get a new turbo and other new PU parts (to fill up the PU pool again). Charles would obviously start last on Sunday.

Ferrari not taking the 10 place penalty tells me they are not confident with a new engine it may just go up in another puff of smoke. The best that they can hope for Charles is to score some points buying them time to investigate engine issues further. This week sainz is in a better position for podium finish.Charles is either nursing that engine or is conserving speed time will tell come quali no where to hide then.

Every team is improving not just potatoe head verstappen with a wounded engine Charles is doing very well.I believe he is faster than verstappen period.Give him a race reliable f1 car which is fast and week in week out you would read Charles pole again and again then converting to race wins which would sicken verstappen to no end.

Come quali… Leclerc on pole. It would be good if Sainz takes P2.

Rumours on social media says Leclerc to start on the last row of grid. He’s taking new engine.

“Today, Ferrari changed to a new ICE, MGU-H, MGU-K and CE (no new turbo)” “Tomorrow they will get a new turbo and other new PU parts (to fill up the PU pool again).”

Too bad we are not going to see another of Charles's magic Q3 lap. Pretty sure he would've been on pole.

Let's see if Sainz can step up. He has to pressure Max here. He has been pretty useless so far.
