According to projections (GPS data), Ferrari has 790hp during qualifying. Mercedes is only 10hp down (780hp). During the race, their engines are equal.

    Renault with their Spec C engine: 730HP , Spec B only 710hp.

    Honda: Spec B = 715hp
There are rumors that Honda‘s Spec C engine will be close to 750hp. (another 20hp and Honda with RedBull will take pts away from Ferrari and Mercedes IMO for 2019...track contigent.)

But Mercedes was close to breaking 1000HP barrier last year, and I am sure current Ferrari/Mercedes PU is more powerful than their predecessors.

In Q3 teams run the highest power available aka 'Party Mode', I don't think GPS data AMUS provided is accurate.

Maybe, it might also be track specific. For example, power circuits the GPS data could give a high hp rating as opposed non-power circuits. Good point.

I doubt those figures are even close to the truth.

I heard the 1000hp rumours last year, so these numbers do seem a little low.

Great post!! F- Pirelli at it's worst. The wrong tire choice is the 2018 excuse of the century! Can't Seb our #1 guy get it right? He is Ferraris driver , pit boss and what ever else needed.

Ferrari becomes latest F1 team to copy McLaren's rear wing idea
    By Giorgio Piola, Matt Somerfield
Published on Friday September 21st 2018

Ferrari might not have won the Singapore Grand Prix, but it arrived with another significant Formula 1 update to make sure its car was suited to the low-speed street circuit.

At the rear of the car, Ferrari introduced a new rear wing solution, pioneered by McLaren and previously seen on the Mercedes and Renault this season.

It features large slots in the transitional region of the wing to allow the airflow a more efficient passage for the high-downforce wing level.

McLaren started this trend last year at the Bahrain Grand Prix with its Honda-powered MCL32.

Towards the front of the car, Ferrari's bargeboards were not an entirely new package. Instead, already prominent features were tuned to improve flow around their surfaces in line with the air speed they would encounter.

These revisions consisted of alterations to the size and geometry of the surfaces, with the forward-most 'S' shaped element moved a little further forward (white arrow). The central section of the main bargeboard also featured more pronounced elements (red arrows).

In line with these changes the elongated floor gills were shortened, highlighting how the airflow's path is dictated by a daisy chain of surfaces that must all work in harmony with one another.

We carry Alfa-Romeo's Quadrifoglio stickers so why doesn't Sauber carry at least a black Cavallino if not the full scudetto badge?

That "luck of the Irish" sticker goes waaaaaaaaaaaay back of early racing. So it's tradition.
It's not how start but how you finish.

It's really Enzo's badge as much as it is Alfa's, since he raced for the team during its inception.

Helmut Marko about the championship to AMuS:

"That is unfortunately decided for Mercedes. It's amazing how Ferrari broke down. Not just from the power. In S3, they were clearly slower and that‘s only handling. But that was already hinted in Singapore."

Guess here would be a better place to post this long term

    rumor:
GPS data from Singapore & Sochi shows Ferrari doesn't deploy that exceptional power "boost" on the straights anymore. According to our information FIA fitted a 2nd sensor to monitor battery energy output. Is there a connection?

If we were cheating then off course the FIA will act? Are Merc running anything illegal?

No-one knows, because nobody is checking on Merc, sounds like they are too busy checking Ferrari

I think it's more a matter that the Mercs (Allison and co.) are quite good at pointing out to the FIA what to check for on our cars rather than the FIA not checking the Mercs. If other teams figured out MGP trickery maybe than we could counter but Ferrari have been too straight lined this year under MA. and all this gentleman talk. F1 is a merciless sport, millions are spent so there is no room for playing nice. Toto is being a typical German no crap boss and look at them now, leading comfortably.

Pure speculation. And I doubt F1 teams would share their GPS data with journos.

When you base your performance on loopholes in the rules, and those loopholes are closed on you mid-season (oil burn), you lose your performance.

If it is true, it isn't a loophole.

It is very probable. This year it will be difficult to win even this year. But on the other hand, the very good form of Sauber against the background of Force India indicate that Ferrari engines still have a lot of power.

Well I don't believe engine is the problem. I believe the main problem is Pirelli's two softest compound, ultra's and hyper's. It seems Ferrari simply can't get them up to the working temperature quickly.

Take Spa and Monza for example, neither of those races had ultra's/hyper's.

yo may have a VERY good point there....so if that's the case, Ferrari have A LOT on their plate to fix those issues.....NOT that would matter for next year (as pirelli will NOT have a GAZILLION color band tires any more, it will be only SOFT, MEDIUM AND HARD....dont' know the exact color, but they will ONLY use 3 different tires as opposed to what is it now, 10????....LOL)

but if we want to win more races this year (WDC i'm afraid is out of the question) then we have to fix our issues we have with the SOFTEST TIRES.....OR fully concentrate on 2019
So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.
