So what was the stipulation again set by Arrivabene if Ferrari wins 3 races?
Did he make good on yet? HAHA!
Arrivabene predicted that we would win 2 races 2015 i think. And we managed to win 3. He didn't give a prediction for next year yet.

I wasn't referring to his predictions for this year.
I found it, and the team missed it by 1 win.
We won't be seeing Arrivabene run the hills of Maranello barefoot then

Actually he said that he thinks we will have 2 wins in 2015,3 will be like a championship to us and if we win 4 it will be somethink so miraculous that he will run barefoot to the hills of Maranello!!!!!!!

^This....exactly the context he put it in...so since we did NOT win 4 races, he doesn't have to run bare foot...

but i like his NEW target for next year....

Team principal Maurizio Arrivabene did not hold back in a recent press briefing, telling reporters "If you want my honest expectation, it is not to be closer to Mercedes but to be in front of them"

what can i say....this guy's got some major BALLS....compared to spineless poor excuse for a team principal we used to have before....and that was DOMENICALI.....i never, ever liked that guy; same goes for Marco Matiaci

    Forza FERRARI
So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.

    2016 Challenger ...

From what I can gather, front suspension will be push-rod, short nose, exhaust changes, and engine changes to aid thermal and aero performance and give a tighter rear end, heat exchanger(?) in the centre of the V a la Mercedes, and MGU-K repositioned, but as I'm not technically minded, I may not have used the correct terminology, but I hope it's better than Google!! And that we'll have a real Prancing Horse.

After a year which surpassed expectations in 2015, Ferrari are putting preparations in place to go bigger and better next season.

In the last campaign, they managed three victories in Malaysia, Hungary and Singapore thanks to Sebastian Vettel and they will be looking to their talisman to deliver once more in Australia on March 20.

Their task will be dependent, of course, on the car that roars out of Maranello for the new year, which at this moment is known only by its project number: 667.

It was believed to be the continuation of a project which was started last year but this time, the team of engineers, directed by James Allison, have decided to start afresh.

That leaves us with an interesting guessing game when trying to determine what form the new car will take. After four years without it, one of the main features is believed to be fronted suspension as well as a more traditional pushrod.

The nose of the car will also be shorter, falling in line with most of the other F1 vehicles, as they prepare to rid themselves of the long one that has been in evidence.

In addition to upgrades to the suspension and a shorter nose, all the signs coming from Maranello are that there will be changes to the Power Unit, notably in terms of thermal disposal and aerodynamics.

Under the new structure, there will be a heat exchanger inside the V of the engine, meaning it is in a higher position, but could be moved to a lower area inside the frame as Mercedes attempted in 2014.

The displacement of the MGUK, which recovers the energy at the rear of the brakes, as they look to implement a narrower rear end.

Ferrari’s new car will not be presented before February and is expected to debut on the 22nd of that month, at the Montmelo circuit in Spain

Ferrari usually officially releases the car end of January, but who knows, maybe this time they'll REALLY keep it a secret (which is gonna suck for us fans as we want to see it prior then that) and actually show it FIRST day of testing....

Ferrari haven't actually said anything about launch date that i know of, so who knows

Thats on circuit at Montmelo for first testing day. But it says not before mid month, so (maybe, if not lost in translation?) as early as 14th Feb, probably online again?

That would be a little later than usual, wasn't last years about 20 Jan?

I'm good with a later date if they don't want to give too much away to other teams.

There isn't an official date as yet ... I would assume it to be the 3rd week of Feb. But then ... let's wait and see :p

I don't think it matters. It will definitely launch with the 2015 spec front and rear wings and I wouldn't even be surprised to see it launch with the 2015 nose either.

Visible changes will probably be: Push rod (if they decide to ditch pull rod), Camera pods(position from 2015 is illegal for 2016), Coke bottle(check to see how much did they manage to shrink it), Nose could be shorter but definitely it won't be final design, and of course wastegate tailpipes(will they use two or one pipe). Wings will probably be latter 2015 spec.

Mercedes don't have a heat exchanger in the V of the engine, it's the MGU-H that sits there. Ferrari have the water intercooler in the V of the engine since 2014. I don't know what they are talking about? Maybe they will place an oil cooler a-la Mclaren style in the center of the car behind the engine with a inlet in the roll hoop, to further free up space for a tighter sidepod package.

Ferrari F150 Italy in 2011 with the push-rod
The goal, set by Sergio Marchionne is clear: after 2015 surprised everyone with an above expectations, thanks to three victories (Malaysia, Singapore and Hungary) signed by Sebastian Vettel, Ferrari in 2016 has to struggle and (possibly) beat Mercedes in the race standings. Indeed, according to the president, you have to start a star in front of everyone right from the first race set - as usual now - in Australia on March 20.
PARENT - A challenging task, therefore, that of the single-seater 2016 that waiting for the final name, for the time is indicated with the project number: 667. This is a sort of progenitor of a new generation of cars, also because the SF15 T after all it had been made, starting from an existing project even if extensively remodeled. This time, however, the team of engineers, directed by James Allison, started from a blank sheet which is why in this analysis we focus more on what was left of the legacy of the past rather than trying to guess the forms or the details of the new seaters.
SUSPENSION - After four years there will be the front suspension with the scheme to pull (pull-rod) fished since 2001 (the utima stable to use it was the Minardi). This solution, which had been adopted to reduce the center of gravity the forecarriage with all elements shifted downwards, had created especially in the first season (2012) management difficulties in performing the adjustments of trim. So it goes back to the more traditional pattern strut (push-rod) as the F150 Italy in 2011 and as of all the other cars. It will be maintained the solution of the lower triangle-shaped tuning fork as adopted on the SF15-T, following the innovation introduced in the season 2014 by Mercedes. Just as the game should remain the front brake calipers horizontally, already seen on the car in 2015.

Muzzle - The choice of the long face will be abandoned, in line with the solutions of short snout already introduced by almost all the other teams, although on several occasions during the last season. For the World Cup 2016, the FIA has introduced only two technical innovations: the imposition of one or two outlets for the wastegate so as to improve the sound of the power unit and a greater severity in the crash test of the structures on either side of the driver's head with a compression test virtually tripled. A test that has created considerable concern to the team for its overcoming. Relying, then, on a certain stability in the technical regulations all the teams, including Ferrari, have focused heavily on the maximum utilization of each sector.
POWER UNIT - In addition to the front suspension strut and short snout, Maranello also points to greater integration between Power Unit, thermal disposal and aerodynamics. The latter is back calling the shots in terms of installation of accessory organs to the thermal engine (the latter deliberated with the exploitation of the last four tokens available for the 2015 season at the GP of Russia) and for the two engines electrical. Also the new arrangement of the heat exchanger inside the V of the engine (therefore in a high position) could move to a lower area inside the frame, following in this case also the Mercedes that had already introduced on the seaters 2014. Moving the MGU-K, which recovers energy of the rear brakes, is linked to the need to achieve a narrow rear end to make the most of the aerodynamic rear. The sides will still be more tapered in the lower part. The same rear suspension will have a greater integration with the aerodynamics.
DEBUT - The new Ferrari, which will be presented not before the middle of February, will debut the 22 of the same month sull'esigente Montmelo circuit, in Spain, where there will be the first test session of 2016. And even then you will understand if the new Red will carry out the task entrusted to her by Marchionne

22 of Feb is the testing date. What most of you missed is when they said the car will be revealed no earlier than halfway through Feb - so we should see it around on the 15th :)

Wasn't the tight rear end the main reason why McLaren did badly in 2015?

They built a small PU and tried to make it good (McLaren demands).

We have built a good PU and now makes it small.
    See the difference :)

Ferrari delayed work on its 2016 Formula 1 car to allow it to fully develop the race-winning SF15-T last season.

The Italian team bounced back from a winless 2014 campaign to emerge as Mercedes' closest challenger and finish second in the constructors' championship, with Sebastian Vettel taking three wins.

Ferrari president Sergio Marchionne is confident the delay will not have an impact on it providing a stern challenge to world champion team Mercedes next term.

"Maurizio [Arrivabene, team principal] will tell you we delayed some things to allow for the 2015 car to be finished," said Marchionne.

"Hopefully he will not bitch about this. We pushed the start of some of the work on the '16 cars on the chassis, delayed it a bit.

"But we have had adequate time and adequate financial resources to do the right thing given the rules.

"So I'm confident we will give Mercedes a run for their money.

"We approached the 16 car with a very clear idea and very clear interpretation.

"It is incredibly unlikely that the car will not offer Mercedes a proper challenge.

"For me to determine whether it will win or not would be very gutsy.

"I have no excuses to give you this year, in the sense that we started developing the car at the proper time."

Mercedes won 16 of the 19 races in 2015 as it won the constructors' championship with four races to spare, while Hamilton defended his title with three races left.

Marchionne concedes Mercedes is still a team to be "afraid of" but he believes the outfit has developed a greater respect for Ferrari following its challenge in 2015.

"They are competitors to be afraid of because Mercedes is a company which the suitable financial resources to properly manage the races of 2016," he said.

"They have a high level of know-how so they are not to be underestimated.

"They made huge progress in 2015, so I'm certain their car will be enormously improved for 2016.

"We respect them, they are competitors, but we are not afraid of the battle on the race track.

"I remember at the start with [Mercedes boss Dieter] Zetsche, in spite the fact we are friends, he had a bit of arrogance about Ferrari.

"They lost a bit of that but not too much because they won the championship.

"If you talk to him now, I think he now respects Ferrari a little bit more

"The only way to get respect is to gain it on the track with results.

    From F1today NL (quoted motorionline.com)
    expecting:
    - short nose like the STR10
    - push rod suspension
    - new MGU-K by Magnetti Marelli (smaller and more power)
    - innovative design of the diffuser
    - different front suspension layout to create more mechanical grip and traction

Now we know that the MGU-K can't deploy more then 160hp, but i don't know if there is a limit on the amount of power that can be recovered during braking. There is a total limit of 2MJ per lap, and on some circuits like Silverstone it would be very difficult to do that with just 160hp.
