    Russian GP 2019 Race

    So,

I think that our soft tyres will hold us P1 and maybe Seb can catch Lewis before turn 3, but then onwards the race we need to open up a gap.

Normally starting on the medium tyres like the taxi's do now gives them more tactical options.

How do you guys think it will pan out?

I'm hoping for a 1 - 2 ofcourse and a Charles win! He's been good all weekend thus a win would be the only apple on the cake .

The tyres are harder this year compared to last year. Last year Pirelli brought the softs, ultras and hypers to Sochi. This year the C2, C3 and C4 are the medium, softs and ultras. So it should be posible to go somewhat longer in the first stint on the ultras. Last year Merc and Ferrari pitted around laps 12-14 and Kimi pitted on lap 18. That should take some edge off Mercs attempt this year to go for the overcut by starting on the mediums. But if they bolt on the ultras for the last stint they will be very quick. Also Ferrari can't bunch up the pack like Charles did in Singapore because that will play into Mercs hands. Ferrari need to build a gap in the first stint. There is also the possibility that Ferrari will go C4 and C2 and Merc will go C3 and C2.

Not catch...vettel should get better start above ham as soft tyres hold good grip than Medium tyres.
It would be between Lec vs Vet, this is the game mercs Counted on I think so. As vet & Lec would push for P1, so that they can destroy their tyres even before the pit stop.

Vet will be challenging for P1 into turn 2 I think, just keep it clean and it's a 1-2 our race pace is good enough.

So 2023 started off bad, but managed to claw back some lap time come end of the year. Lets hope SF24 will give us tifosi something to smile about.

Both our drivers need to be careful when one is attacking the other. No hard racing within themselves.
    Bring home 1-2 that’s enough.

exactly, especially now that the WDC is pretty much in the bag for Lewis.....

Ferrari always had and will have a #1, #2 driver status. What else can Charles do to show he's got the #1 makings. He's beating the hell out of a 4x WDC champion, with just a year in the seat. And he ain't going anywhere soon. He's got years of driving ahead of him.

Great start for us but something is very wrong with a circuit where starting P3 is better than P1... Bottas 2017 and now this. Well, well. I hope Vettel goes early enough for Hammy to be way behind any significant tow on us.

Shorter actual race should be good for us, so long as we find a way to keep Hammy behind on the restart.
