He needs to be given the number 2 role. It would take the pressure from him. Sure he would be angry, but he would get over it.

I don’t even know what to say… Carlos is going to use up the entire budget with repairs at this point.

Talk to him? They handed him a 2-year contract thinking it will take the pressure off him and he is even worse! Do a swap and put Bottas. At least he will put the car up there in Q.

Hopefully his crashes will not jeopardize our upgrade schedule.

I know that it will never happen. But i would like to see Fernando in a car like this years car...
Sainz obviously earned his contract with last years performance.

I will sooooooo love that sadly it won't happen :( - Charles will still beat him though.

Sainz is showing the difference between elite and good. The best deliver when the expectations are high. It's easy driving with the 3 best car and no pressure.

He wasn't setting the world alight last year, let's not get ahead of ourselves. He was incredibly fortunate last year.

Indeed. But very pleasing to see George is still faster than Two Chains.

Merc is looking good and that's why it is very important for Sainz to stop making silly mistakes.

Good to see the teams not being forced to wear face diapers now that they are in the free State of Florida.

Charles's PB sectors would've easily put him on the top. But that's not important today.

We run the engines low on Fridays and are just running our own practice programs. Most likely working on the right battery deployment for example. Mercedes have to run near maximum to figure out what they need to do with their car. That's what it's almost certainly about. Last year we were top on Friday at Zandvoort and then nowhere when it mattered. I think they'll be closer in qualifying trim than on other laps, but lose a lot of time due to rear tyre degradation in the middle sector during the race due to their skinny wing.
