It's wet. Drivers finding the threshold of balance given the track conditions and tire compounds (full wets).

I want the Quali to be wet. Will probably put to rest the "myth" that in rain it's the driver who can outshine the car and Lewis is the goat in rain.

It has'nt rained. We still have a moist track.

Drivers are going to use the end of the qualifying sessions times due to track evolution.

Sunset is in 2 h 30 mins so I think it'll be alright. If it'd be dry tomorrow, it'd be a bit nuts to freeze the qualifying - I think they'd just declare the session null and void and restart from 18 mins if it has to be delayed.

That being said, I think Charles will be able to easily go through because they won't green-flag until the track is much better. That they tried to race in Istanbul this late in the year shows a basic lack of climatological knowledge inside Liberty Media. Istanbul is very unpredictable and much chillier than people think. It's not exactly Alanya That those running the circuit gave resurfacing a go four weeks ahead of the race is just priceless.

Nicely done. Resumed qualifying so late that it's almost dry and one team can continue with their pole streak.

One chance for LeClerc, anyone spins off that's it. Hope everyone keeps the car on the track. Need some luck.

Better hope Masi isn't trigger-happy on the red-flag button again...

Given the SC-geddon lately I'm very pessimistic.

That was one long lap, especially since Kvyat spun right in front of Leclerc. Anyway, both cars through and hopefully a clean Q2 session ahead.

You can surely understand the red flag in these conditions, or do you forget Jules so quickly?

Amazing if someone beats Merc to pole. This seems like the only chance this year.

Suzuka and Istanbul are two completely different circuits and the particular corners in question aren't even compatible.
