Now, lets say "Vettel is faster" - and with an opponent that does not mean giving up a position - rather TAKING OUT the opponent! :-D
Certain codes that Ferrari have agreed on with the drivers before the race can mean gold in the end!

Funny thing is Alonso was complaining about races being manipulated a couple of weeks back! I have no problems with team orders. F1 is a team sport after all. But I didn't see the need for team orders in this race. It was like Alonso was getting pressure from Vettel.

Not really, not much different to Massa moving for Kimi or Kimi for Massa.
Whatever you want to think. Its just over half way through the season, its the anniversary of his accident, and we just sold out his drive to win for the rest of the season.
It's miles different and we all know it.

I just threw up in my mouth a little...disturbing...
I don't think the switch affected Massa. He lost about 2s in traffic and is only lapping a tenth or so slower than Alonso.
Infact, he was quicker than him on the last lap, quicker than Vettel as well.

How about Massa moving for Kimi at Brazil? disgusted? Kimi moving for Massa at China? disgusted?
Greg Kimi is in rally now, he is KO, out, gone, passed, old news.....
Massa was asked to let Alonso pass, which in it self I can see why, But Ferrari should not harp on about how no team orders exists. If what they done was fair they would of just come out and said "let Alonso pass your to slow to win" .

25th July 2010, 14:24
Two things.
1. What happened today was 100% the correct decision, I support Ferrari through and through, Ferrari's only chance of winning the championship is Fernando Alonso, we have to give him every chance possible to win the championship.
2. Im disgusted by the way Ferrari handled the situation by making it so obvious team orders were given, I wouldn't be surprised if an investigation takes place after the race, Rob Smedley turning around and saying 'sorry' to massa over the radio was just ridiculous, save that for after the race, dont do it over the radio so the FIA can hear, they will do anything to penalise ferrari.
Nick Singer
25th July 2010, 14:24
Can't believe what some of you are saying. What a disgrace. I know about points, championship positions etc but Ferrari should be ashamed. I know as a Ferrari fan of 30 years standing I am...
I wouldn't be surprised if there isn't some sort of 'protest', an inquiry and the team get nailed.
Pfft!

My feelings exactly. This is a disgrace. It could have been his comeback, one year after his accident (to the day). There are more important things than 7 points for Alonso, whether or not Massa has a chance of winning the championship, and if there's one team in the world who know this, it should be Ferrari. This is just hugely disappointing.

Ferrari 1-2
Crazy how people have over-reacted imo. Better to have a WDC than not to have one. Was the right call to make, nobody would have done any different in their position. Massa wasn't specifically told to move over, just that Fernando was quicker, so as I said before, he clearly knows the system.
He's had favours from the team before, so he can't be annoyed if he has to do it for someone else.

Yes the PAST! In the past they used turbos, hell some cars even had 6 wheels, I heard Lewis is the best driver ever. A lot has been said and done in the past. but I also thought we moved on " past " that, past team orders and " race manipulation "
If what happenens in the pass justifies how we act in the future I really doubt we will have this " Team spirit " much longer.

Eddie Jordan is pathetic. Absolutely pathetic.

I'm an Alonso fan, and if the positions were reversed, and Massa was so far ahead and outqualifying and outpacing Alonso, I would be but admit this is the right thing to do. Greatness is achieved through victories, for decades now this has been a cheater's sport and almost everyone does it, sticking to the rules only makes you the looser, remember Valencia and the other 5 or so reprimands Hamilton got without penalties. Heck, in the past teammaters got out of their cars to let Fangio race lol.

Why has Alonso not won a race by himself this season? he needed Vettel to win Bahrain for him and Felipe to give him a win today. It's seven points (25 vs. 18), but I doubt Alonso will need exactly these 7 points, and I'm quite sure Massa's loss of motivation is going to cost the team more than that, in turn potentially costing the team the WCC... We'll see.
