Yet another great win. Half way through the season I never thought we could win the title anymore.

Somehow Ferrari managed to pull its magic again and completely turn the table around, now we're in P2 of the title standing. This is one of the best turnaround I've seen although I haven't followed F1 for very long. But still IMO it's been a great turnaround.

Well done to Alonso and everyone in Ferrari. I'm glad the team did not decide to give up on this season.

Well done to the boys in red........A great result.........
We knew they could do it all along......This is the beginning of the shift in power I believe!!!!
Ferrari on a roll!!!!!!
Did any of you see the photographer trying to take a snapshot of Lewis when he parked his Merc alongside the road.....Lewis was trying to absorb the major blow to his title campaign, but the paparazzi would not have any of it as he was aiming for a picture worth a million words!!!!CLASSIC:clap

Cogratulations Alonso and the whole team. This is fantastic, over the moon, great job, now 11 points behind, 2 poles 2 wins. Who said Singapore would be RBR walk over???

Ferrari have made some truly giant steps forward, they have gained the most out of the top teams, and the pit stop again under immense pressure was brilliant. Congrats too to Alonso, who was again his usual brilliant self, holding a slightly faster RB behind and not making a single mistake. Massa was given tough luck but made the most out of it, the good thing is the car is now up there able to fight with RB, so he will have very good chances in the next few races, and with a new engine too.

As we get to the business end of the season, Alonso is starting to show his class. 3 wins out of the last 5 races is very impressive, and this weekend was a win against the odds because that redbull was faster. I had pretty much given up on this season after watching Alonso crash out at spa, I turned my tv off in disgust. Would never have thought the next two races would be two triples by Alonso. Amazing.

The last 2 races have shown that we have the ability. Hami gave us a BIG present today and we are nicely poised to exploit it.

Most importantly we look like a team that has the confidence to win it. RB and Macca don't right now!

Great race today, perfect drive from Alonso, Massa making the best of a bad situation AND it warms the heart to see the Ferrrari pitwall crew are on their game now. The way they reacted to red bull pitting was just fantastic. I don't think ferrari planned on pitting on that lap, but the primes were faster at that point so red bull really had no choice but to pit anyway once they saw ferrari were pitting on the same lap. masterclass. There was a safety car just a few laps after they pitted so it would have been disastrous for us if we had decided to stay out longer.Have to mention Kubica was entertaining even though he overtook Massa (who really couldn't do anything about it) and the way heiki reacted when his car was on fire, as if he was on a sunday afternoon drive and then getting out and putting it out himself was just plain fun to watch. All in all a great evening :thumb

This really was a great race, but really hard to watch... Fernando made a stunning lap in the qualifying and got the pole. The start wasn't the best possible but he made a nice defending move and kept Vettel behind him. Sebastian was really fast but Fernando kept his head cool and drove perfectly to the win. Now we are fully fighting for the championship again. :thumb
Felipe drove also well, scoring four points isn't bad at all.

The Red Bulls will still be difficult to overtake on track so qualifying for the last 4 races is going to be more crucial than ever. We need to try and be on the front row for every race at least, to give Fernando the best shot at this title. I believe we can do it

The early SC ruined Massa's race even more so than it already was, without that then he probably would have been easily in the top 10, but when most of the other midfield cars pitted his strategy was lost, Kubica on fresh rubber is not a reason to suggest Massa done anything badly today, 8th place from last on the grid, we hailed Alonso for coming 6th from the back at Monaco, give the guy a bit of a break no?

Really really stunning race from Alonso, his best drive of the season without doubt. It reminded me of 05/06 Alonso, the Alonso we all expected after Bahrain. Fantastic job from Ferrari to improve the car enough to let Fernando fight the Red Bulls. As Fernando said in the press conference, Forza Ferrari!

I thought Massa raced a decent race too, 10th from the back of the grid isn't a bad result at all. He basically had no clean air all race.

Alonso and Vettel were in a league of their own though, no one could touch their pace during the race. A masterclass in a perfect weekend.

I don't understand, he started last, pitted in lap2 and came last again, SC in lap3 so 7 or 8 cars pitted then... thus he overtook 8 cars in a single lap, without moving a finger.
If I got that right, I would say that safety car was a god sent gift. I admit at the time I was too focused on Alonso's restart after the SC to care about anything else though.

This victory felt really good. Its been a long time coming. Somehow it was more satisfying than monza. I dunno why.
Alonso just showed that given a good car, and it doesnt have to be the best, just a good competitive car... and he is truly a force to be feared by the rivals. If our car can maintain this position to RBs... we are in for a very good shot at WDC atleast; for i feel the RB is still quite a bit faster than the Ferrari. Alonso is definitely punching above his weight here. :-)
I will sleep so peacefully today.

Forza Ferrari!!! :ferrarifl:ferrarifl

Thank fully Alonso could keep maintain 1 sec+ gap to Vettel to prevent a Braindead move from the back. That realy was my greatest concern right through the race.
As for Massa, is it possable that caught up in the slower mid field he could not get his tyres to their optimum opperating temp? :Hmm

Actually, Marc Gene was telling on Spanish TV La Sexta that they were aiming for an early SC to help Massa advance, before lap 10 according to him. In fact, when the SC came out, Gene said it was a perfect situation for Massa.

Probably our old problems with heating up tires perhaps?

Mark Webber did make many passes after his similar strategy of an early pit stop, progressing all the way to the back of Rubens, which is why it worked out for him so well, IMO.

Okay, here an Alonsofan defending Felipe.
The qualification was something caused by the car, Felipe could do nothing to change that.
The race was not bad at all, but traffic on a track like this will slow you down enormously. Nothing he could do about that.
He made it into the top 10 and personally I think he achieved the maximum by that, he drove very clean, no mistakes at all so thumbs up for him.
That Webber overtook him was simple, he was on brand new tyres while Felipe had been using his for about 50 laps already. Again very little he could do against that.
So overall I think Felipe Massa did a good job given the circumstances he had to work in.

If only this were true! Not too sure of the whole mathematical picture, but FA needs MW to drop some points - hopefully with Massa back with new engine/gearbox he can 'assist' with that. But it is too early to dismiss the two RB's and the two McLarens.....we have momentum and both FA AND the team are operating very well at the moment.

Alonso was supreme yesterday, but we would be kidding ourselves if we didnt admit that Vettel was the quicker of the two, but thankfully being a street circuit he couldnt get passed.

This one is going down to the wire and is not going to be one for the feint-hearted!!

FORZA ALONSO!

NJB13 and I spoke a fair bit about our chances in Singapore prior to this weekend and I must say he pretty much called it: we weren't going to lag behind Red Bull as much as was expected.

FP1 wasn't much of an indicator as the conditions were far from ideal but as soon as FP2 came around, I was sure we would be strong. Fernando and Felipe were throwing the car around and were extremely aggressive with the throttle--the car was dancing in their hands and you could sense how confident they were. Had Felipe finished Qualifying, we would have closed out the front row, with either driver in front.

That was a mega drive from Fernando. He controlled every meter of that race and played Sebastian like a piano. The Vettel fans were getting all frothy at the bit when Seb started stringing up fastest laps late into the race, but I was sure Fernando would respond. He gave Seb a taste on lap 47 (?) and then drove the point home on lap 58, I think. He couldn't match Seb fastest lap for fastest lap so he put them in when they counted. And so it happened that, while the Red Bull was the better car, a Ferrari driver won. Bravo, Fernando.

Shame for Felipe. Again, had that gearbox not conked out, a 1-2 was very likely. As has been said on here, the SC pretty much ruined his strategy (which I thought was a good call, BTW) and he was struggling and very cautious during the latter parts of the race. Still, 24th to 8th is plenty to be thankful about. Cheers, Felipe. Hang in there, better times are surely just around the corner.

It was a crucial win and I really believe we have the momentum coming into the last 4 races. We'll win both titles. :-)

Oh, by the way... Pifosi 2, Lewis 0.
