He knows his brit drivers are in trouble, so trying to discredit Alonso. What a gas bag:lol
Damon Hill hits out Fernando Alonso's 'controversial' title chance
Fernado Alonso's late surge into the fight for the world title threatens to plunge Formula One into a fresh storm, with former champion Damon Hill warning: 'There will be a lot of controversy if he wins the title.'
The 29-year-old Spaniard goes to next weekend's Japan GP in second, a mere 11 points behind leader Mark Webber, having leap-frogged British stars Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button, as well as Sebastian Vettel, with three wins in the last five races for Ferrari.
Yet with only four Grands Prix left, in Japan, South Korea (if the new circuit passes an 11th-hour safety inspection), Brazil and Abu Dhabi, his rise remains overshadowed by Ferrari's $100,000 fine for allegedly ordering Felipe Massa to allow team-mate Alonso to win ahead of him at the German Grand Prix in July, against regulations and sportsmanship.
'There will be people who feel that points should have been taken away from Ferrari and Alonso,' said Hill.
'What has to be remembered is there is need for a proper race, so that the sport is not in breach of its agreement with the public. Formula One does seem to get itself repeatedly into these situations.'

The major problem these people have is summarised in this sentence: "having leap-frogged British stars Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button". Well, no surprises here, although I would not have expected Hill to play that game (particularly knowing that he did this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykI39M27y10). But I have to say that the Daily Mail is more than likely to have twisted/taken out of context Hill's words in order to make them sound more negative towards Alonso.
Edit: and yes, I know team orders were not forbidden in 1998. But the "rules" part of what happened in Germany was sorted out by the WMSC in Paris, and the "sportmanship" side of it does not change by it being in the regulations or not.

Same Hill that had a loyal DC as no2 in 1995 then :-)
Same Hill that begged Eddie Jordan to not have a proper race at Spa 98 with Ralf :-)
what a fool he is

Have a look at the video link I posted - it has all the radio exchange, with Hill requesting Jordan to stop a faster Schumacher.

Well firstly, it's the bloomin' Daily Mail! And secondly, it's Damon Hill! Of course he hates Ferrari! And the fact that Alonso has simply SPANKED everyone else's bottom since Germany by scoring the most points and is looking the most likely to win the WDC at this stage, while his "British" lovebirds Hamilton and Button keep moaning and lying and "forgetting" stuff, of course he is hating Alonso right now!
Forza Fernando! You go get 'em! :ferrarifl

And, if LH wins the WDC by less than 12 points it will be ‘unfair’ (if my arithmetic is correct!) since LH took second position in Valencia (18 points) after receiving a non-punitive drive -through penalty, instead of the 6 points he would have collected by remaining in 7th place and not illegally overtaken the safety car.
BY the way, was not a certainty that Massa would have won; FA may have raced and passed him.

'There will be a lot of controversy if he wins the title.'
Yes. British media mainly.
'There will be people who feel that points should have been taken away from Ferrari and Alonso,' said Hill.
Sure. Because Alonso did ... erm ... ¿What did he do against the rules? Oh well who cares. But all we know that for some people Alonso is Satan whilst Hamilton is a fine gentleman.
In summary, Damon didn't say anything new. He is right.

I expect a lot more #### #### if Alonso wins in Japan.
For some people the title will only be worth it and clean if certain driver wins it.

DC never helped Damon out in 95. He was too far behind or too busy blowing gearboxes left right and centre!

To be fair he didn't say anything that bad, you know, he said that people will feel that the championship will be tainted. namely hamilton fanboys that don't know the first thing about the sport.
And please guys, never pay any attention to any articles by the Daily FAIL. :thumb it will make you go insane

This is the man who told Eddie Jordan if Ralf tried to pass him he would take him off!!!!
I just hope he isn't the driver/steward at any of the remaining races or our drivers can expect to pick up penalties a plenty!!!!:-(

I have a feeling that Damon would keep his moth shut about this if somebody let past Button or Hamster. Well I'm sure of it, as it's happened before. So yea, cheap shot, Damon... Anyways, who cares what he says!

He's just looking to take on Sir Jackie Stewart's persona in due course. We ignore Sir JS so let's do the same for DH. Not to get the hoped for rise from the Tifosi would be more irritating than them calling his bluff.

>> this cheap action from the Hypocrite are expected;
>> I wonder about, What his opinion about what happen in Hockenheim 2008;
Is that mean : lewis hamilton in 2008 should not be the Champions???????????????????
Tiz
5th October 2010, 18:08
Of course the other gripe that DH may have is that he was only a one-time WDC and doesn't like the thought of Fernando possibly being a 3-time winner.

Hill is British and an ex-world champion and son of a champion F1 racer, he absolutely should support who wants and no doubt that person will be from the UK, where he loses respect is making comments like these which are beneath contempt as they try to sour the well earned success of a talented competition whilst forgetting the controversy his favoured drivers have.
