Saturday saw more than 13,000 visitors – all friends and family members of Ferrari workers – make their ways to Maranello as the Italian team opened its doors for a special ‘Family Day’.
With the Scuderia boasting a total of some 3,000 employees, a selection of generations were welcomed to the factory at the weekend in order to feast their eyes on numerous road models as well as Formula 1machinery.
The visit also allowed relatives the opportunity of meeting company Chairman Luca di Montezemolo, who enjoyed frequent autograph signings plus photographs.
“This is a wonderful day to celebrate,” he said. “It’s the day of our people. I always underline that, behind our products, there are exceptional men and women - with them we have to approach challenges and share joyful moments.”
Di Montezemolo also commented on the team’s F1 chances, with just four races now remaining in the 2010 season:
“We’ll give it our all to win it, I’m proud of the work done by the team. We missed out on some occasions at the beginning of the season but now there’s great concentration, we’re giving it our all - let’s hope that in the end it works out.”
