Thought this deserved a thread of its own..

The Ferrari team will pay tribute to four Italian soldiers killed in Afghanistan by wearing black armbands on Sunday at the Japanese Grand Prix.

Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa’s cars will be “decorated in similar fashion”, the team said on Saturday.

Stefano Domenicali said:

"The death of four of our fellow countrymen working as part of a peace mission grieves us greatly. We are with their families in spirit and wish to honour their memory."

Not a big fan of any war, especially the so called "war" these days. Hope all those decorations don't add too much weight on the car:-E.

This thread should be absolutely respected for its deserving purpose of our opportunity to express our condolences to the families of the soldiers who were there and to support our team for their actions to respect the soldiers and their families - lets leave any politics out.

A very respectful and noble gesture from Ferrari- might show Haug and Co how things are really done in a human way- Germany has also lost soldiers this week in Afghanistan but i do not see Mercedes doing anything......-not a political comment by the way just a statement of fact..........

I don't think we should be using this as a points scoring exercise over anyone :-)

RIP to the fallen troops. Not nice at all. Had some my old mates from my Regiment injured and lost in past few years, in this conflict, rest in peace brothers.

Would need to make them first, not much time to make them then fly them out :-)

It's a nice gesture, and the lack of it by other teams shouldn't make us think any less of them, just to think better of Ferrari.

RIP to the soldiers and a great gesture by Ferrari.

but those soldiers don't belong in Afghanistan.Neither do the terrorists working with the drug dealing warlords that imposed their regime of terror in the country until these soldiers went there. So try to keep your political opinions to yourself, because I'm not in the mood to take this **** comments and turn a blind eye when soldiers die like that.

RedRebel40

^sorry mate but the truth is hard, those soldiers died for the political and corporate interests of Italy in the American controlled countries like Iraq and Afgahnistan

Ferrari forum, F E R R A R I F O R U M, nobody here gives a ******* **** about your political opinion on Afghanistan, and even less want to read about it in a thread like this.
