We had a chance today, a chance we probably should not have had. Yes we have fought back well but we were always behind Red Bull and always living on their mistakes, for 2011 make it them chasing us please.

I think our engineers really deserve this congratulations for keeping us in it.. however i cannot say the same for the pit wall.. someone should be fired for that..

Yes, we put up a good fight. I'm hoping for better next year. If it had not been for the bad luck early on this season we would have been in better shape today.

Sorry, I think there are very good people and engineers but the strategy at the pit-wall is a very weak point.

With this kind of championships, so tight and tough, we have to sor a few things out if we want to celebrate next season.

Agreed. I thought it was a bad decision at the time. Oh well, no good second guessing at this point. Just come back stronger next year.

We fought back valiantly from mid-season, Red Bull should never have let it go to the last race.
Really, people who are crying out for people to be fired need to stop and think about that. Regardless of whether or not mistakes were made today, I am proud of the team.

its called the heat of the moment, you react to whats happening... NOW. Easy to say that sitting at home or in pub, but when in heat of battle you have to make spilt second desicions. We all would of made same calls or mistakes if we were in their shoes this year.

I'm still proud to be supporting Ferrari. As I've said before, whatever happens, we did a great job at fighting back, it was a battle I never ever thought we'd be able to, but we did it and we should be proud.

That said, we all have the right to be disappointed. Alonso has the right to be disappointed. And I'll say this, if Luca is very furious at the people who make strategical decision, I will have to agree with Luca. Not that I'm saying anyone should be fired, but if Luca D decides to take some action and do some changes in our team personal, I will not object.

Still proud of Ferrari and what we achieve this year. Just having a hard time swallowing the fact that we threw it away with a bad decision (as we've actually make some good decision this year, so I'm not sure what changed really).

Still proud though :-D

Yep roll on March, im so proud of the whole team for what they have achieved this year, the second half especially. Its been nerve racking all year. But now lets look forward to next year.

New rules and new engineers (Pat Fry) will help us get on form for the hunt and battle next year. Even to finish as close as we have this year is stunning, since RBR has had the best car. They should of wrapped up titles ages ago.

2011, roll on cannt wait, heres to good things next year

Hindsight is a wonderful thing.

After a few calming drinks... I'm very proud of the teams effort this year, I really thought we would be out of the fight at Monza going by our mid-year performance but it's still great that we fought Red Bull down to the last round.

With such a strong Red Bull car we could only win the championship and not lose it. Red Bull could only lose the championship and they didn't. All the cards were on their hands if you take the whole 2010 year.

Hornet
14th November 2010, 16:57
True, it was really a championship for the RB to lose.

Hopefully next year, we can have it in our hands, and I still believe we could have done a better job if we had it in our hands.

I'm optimistic about next year.

2009- absolutely nowhere
2010- within a whisker of winning, despite not having the faster car all year

In the cold light of day and once everyone has calmed down, that's not a bad return. I'm sure the boys and girls from Maranello are hurting right now and that pain is what will propel them to win next year, or the year after.. Etc.

I'm annoyed with the race but VERY proud of the season.
Roll on 2011!

During the last 12 seasons, we won 14 WC's out of 24 :-) !! Mclaren for example only 2.. ;-)

During that period we won 6 WDC's and lost 4 at the last race..Only 2005 and 2009 we were much off the pace, but won historic races at Indy '05 and
Spa last year.

Winning at least one race every season since '94..Incredible achievement !!

I'm so disappointed now. I think too that Fernando's stop was 7,8 laps too early..There was no sufficient time- gap to the 'midfielders'.

And about Fernando's 'wave' to Petrov..Maybe not o.k, however so understandable..Really proud to have this great driver in the team..
His Korean- win, surely a lucky one..but finishing in the darkness made this one sooo special !!

Thanks to the whole team and hope we can add some WC's to our total soon :-) !

Forza Ferrari :clap

+1 for trying to fight back.
-1 for the rubbish car.

Compared to the last year we will have less time to prepare for the next season but time means nothing in F1, its ideas that count. So hopefully we will have plenty of those next year.

I wonder should we be trying to get our hands on that genius Adrian Newey..

We were lucky to be fighting for a championship in the last race of the year when you consider the performance the Red Bull had.... it was an amzing year.. the best year in F1 s 60 year history and we were a part of that so congrats to Ferrari for that..:thumb

Kers is back next year so we should have a head start on that over Red Bull next year and Fernando will be there to help design and develop the car right from the off so roll on 2011 and lookin forward to Massa coming back to his 2008 form with the new Pirellis.. I Also think, that because of the inseason testing ban, there may always be one dominant team. i hope this is ferrari next year.

I also hope Ferrari will work something out with Magneti Marelli so they don't provide KERS to Renault again.

Mrs.Domenicali
15th November 2010, 08:46
Luca di Montezemolo:
“Our morale is low after the conclusion to this season, but that’s sport. We had everything in place to win the title with Fernando but today, things did not go our way. All the same, I want to publicly thank the team for being capable of getting to the final round still in the fight for the Drivers’ title, staging a fight back which back in July, almost everyone considered an impossible task."

"We believed in it right to the end and today’s result should not cancel out what we have done this season. In all but two of the last fourteen years, Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro has reached the final race of the season either in the fight for the title or having already won it. Fernando has had an extraordinary season, demonstrating his strength and determination, always being close to the team and making an exceptional contribution."

"Domenicali has done a great job, keeping the team united at all times, even in the toughest moments. It will take us a little while to get over this disappointment but we have to keep our heads up and be proud of what we have done. Finally, I want to thank our fans, who have always believed in us, when one sees so many Ferrari flags and so many people coming to visit our park here in Abu Dhabi, I am happy that Ferrari is still operating at a high level, especially for them.”

Stefano Domenicali:
“There is a great sadness at this moment, because to come so close to our goal and to see it slip away for just a few points really hurts. We made a wrong decision in terms of strategy for three reasons, we marked a rival with two cars, we were unduly concerned about the wear rate of the soft tyres and we did not take into consideration the difficulty of getting past other cars on the track."

"Now, there is no point in discussing the whys and wherefores of how we arrived at this choice. Win or lose, we do everything together as a team. At this time, I would like to thank our fans who have always demonstrated their great affection. This was probably the worst race of the season, but when you lose by just a handful of points, it’s clear that the title was not lost here, or at least not just here."

"I want to congratulate Fernando, who is an extraordinary driver and an extraordinary person. He demonstrated powers of leadership from both inside and outside the cockpit and we will do all we can to give him and Felipe an even better car next year. I wish to thank the team for the great effort they have always put into their daily work, at the track and at home. Few people outside the company would have thought in mid-July that we would have made it to Abu Dhabi leading the world championship."

"Sure, and I repeat myself, now we are sad, but we have to keep our heads held high. We are Ferrari which means we are condemned to having to win, so a second place is a defeat, but this is also part of sport and we have to accept it. Finally, congratulations to Vettel, he had the quickest car and in the end, he was the best, which the points table proved.”

Felipe Massa:
“It’s a real shame the way things went in this race. We had decided to pit early to try and stay ahead of Webber, but we did not manage it and we were then stuck in traffic for almost the whole race, both myself and Fernando. Unfortunately, the cars ahead of us were very quick in a straight line and it was impossible to overtake. At a fantastic venue like this, it’s a shame that overtaking is so difficult."

"For me, it has definitely not been a great season, as I had expected a lot more out of it. Now we need to react and try to prepare as well as possible for the next season. We made mistakes and we must try not to repeat them. Already, we have two days of testing next week with the new tyres, I am curious to see how they behave.”

Fernando Alonso:
“It’s a shame to get to the end of the season and then lose the title at the final moment, but that’s racing, that is sport. Everything went wrong today, from the start itself to the strategy. With hindsight, it would have been better not to pit so soon, but it’s easy to say that when you have all the facts, however, it was definitely not an easy decision."

"I want to congratulate Red Bull and its drivers, over the course of the season they have had a little something extra than us and they deserve to be where they are today. I had said it over the past few days, this is still a great season. There have been some very intense months and I found myself in a team that has an amazing atmosphere."

"Now there is some sadness, but I am sure that in a few hours, with a clear head, we will begin to appreciate better what we have achieved. We have to continue like that, staying united and determined. We have to face next year with the same will to win which has characterised this one and, something I learned very quickly, is also in the Ferrari blood. We must improve the car and ensure that the mistakes that all of us, we drivers and the team, have made during the year, are not repeated.”

Chris Dyer:
“We are all very down at the moment. We had the car, the team and the driver with which to win the title but we did not manage it because we made the wrong decision in terms of strategy, and there is no point in making excuses. We concentrated too much on what Mark was doing and we then were left bottled up in traffic and that cost us the title. You could say we looked too closely at what was going on behind us without seeing what was in front of our nose. It’s a shame because losing like this hurts, it hurts a lot.”

It's sad to hear them sounding so low :-( maybe we could send them some words of encouragement and support?
