Does anyone on the ground (or near) there have any word about effects
or damage if any to Ferrari works?

My deepest condolences to those who are suffering through this disaster,
hopefully aid and assistance is there for those in need.

No damage to Ferrari HQ in Maranello. There was just an aftershock about 2 hours ago that registered at 3.5 The main earthquake was at 6.0. 6 people reported dead so far. Lots of damage to buildings and not sure if they are safe, if schools are safe, etc.

Good that Maranello wasn't massively effected but of course people's lives are far, far more important than any possible damage to Ferrari.

I was a couple of kilometres away from Maranello during the earthquake and I really felt it. I actually thought it was nothing special until I saw the news... Really shocking. But yeah, everything looked okay at the factories. Wishing all the best to the victims.

What makes it even worse is that many historic buildings have been badly damaged (some quite possibly beyond repair), some dating back to the 13th century

Ferrari suspends work after earthquake

Ferrari has suspended work at its Maranello headquarters following a second earthquake in a week in Northern Italy.

After an earthquake that measured 6.0 on the richter scale hit close to Modena last Monday - causing seven deaths and widespread damage - a second quake struck the same region on Tuesday morning. Today's quake was of 5.8 magnitude, but early reports suggest that it has caused more fatalities than last week.

Ferrari has now decided to stop work for the day despite the factory appearing to be unaffected, with the team announcing on Twitter: "Another earthquake near Modena and in Northern Italy.... Everything looks ok here at the factory.." before later confirming "After the earthquake, working activity has been suspended for today. All the workers and employees have been allowed to join their families."

Fernando Alonso added: "After the earthquake, the team has decided to stop the activities at the factory. We are all going back to home..."

Sad to hear they went through yet another quake and I
hope all the fine people in the region recover and can go
about their daily lives again soon. My sincerest condolences
to those who suffered and lost loved ones, homes and livelihoods
and my best wishes for a quick turnaround back to normalcy and
good fortune.

hopefully Ferrari's cars in canada will show some love to those affected by it, like they did for abruzzo. it may seem like nothing to some, but ferrari represents italy pretty much, it's one of it's symbols.

Remind me of when the yankees and mets went down to show some love to the rescue guys working at the ground zero, sometimes just a little word, a simple gesture, can mean something that is priceless to those who receives it.

Due to the second big earthquake in nothern Italy in only two weeks time, Ferrari has suspended work at the Maranello factory. A statement on Twitter yesterday read: "After the earthquake, working activity has been suspended for today. All the workers and employees have been allowed to join their families." 16 people were killed yesterday during the quake, while several people are still missing.
