Knowing Fernando is on such a long contract there is no way Lewis will come to Ferrari. It will only upset the whole Team if he comes to drive for us now.
Ferrari are geared around Alonso and we don't have a Ron Dennis running our Team!!!!!!!!!!:Hmm

I would take him. No worries, Lew, since he has been at Mac longer than most, he will probably take longer to convert, unlike Alonso, or even Kimi.
His hero also wanted Ferrari, so it will be a dream, sooner rather than later.

I think Lewis Hamilton is a driver some love and many dislike. He is not univerally liked nor respected. His driving ability and judgement on the race track is VERY QEUSTIONABLE and I for one do not see him as close to best in F1. He is in the top 10 and there are many drivers on the track, given the same race car that would best him. He very erratic driving ability does not make him very desirable. He is FAR from the Best in the Business and that is Alonso!

Ciao.

Forza Ferrari!!!!

Think those years suited the driving style he has grown up with and likes, all out attack. When we could refuel the cars, could push and attack every lap with and the tyres would always give grip longer. Just think since 09 it hasnt suited him that well. He likes to attack all the time, he has grown up this year ALOT. Understanding the concept of looking after the tyres. If he doesnt want join Ferrrai, fair enough. But, if in few years he changed his mind good, be nice to have fast British driver back at Ferrari.

Luca D: Hamilton is not ready to drive for Ferrari. Actually he will never be...

Damn rookies never think before talk.
Let's say that in 2018 Hamilton comes to Ferrari. What he will answer to the journalists if they remind him this statement???
Ohhh, no , now it's like a dream??? Even Kimi would never say something like this.
Lewis once again proves how Bozo Head he is....
He thinks, because of the McLaren contract offer he had, that he will never need again to knock doors...
Let's wait and see what will happen when Ron will not be active in the sport anymore...
Bozo !!!!!!!!

Thats ridiculous.

Ferrari were apparently very interested in Hamilton after 07 and even tried to negotiate with him.

I can understand his perspective, he is a British driver driving for one of the great British teams.

You would not put him and Alonso in the same car again either. Felipe seems to be doing better of late so he might be right for another season.

What a laugh if Hamilton ever did go to Ferrari with Alonso there. Alonso could then dictate the terms, Hamilton is definitely #2 driver, and if Alonso said 'Jump' Hamilton needs to ask 'How High Boss'.

No - on a serious note, I would hate it if Hamilton came to Ferrari. We do not need a wining little brat who has never paid his 'school fees' by driving his way through from the smaller teams. He has just been handed everything on a plate.

A small correction. He insulted the greatest marque in the sport. No biggie, but once he 's done with McLaren or McLaren is done with him, he will have two choices, being either he moves to a smaller team , or just plain go someplace else outside F1.

No biggie really but he should really learn to think before he talks.

On a personal note, Lewis driving for Ferrari 's not a dream, is a Nightmare. We don't need him.

What does "sour grapes" mean?

There were grapes on the branch of a tree. A fox could not leap high enough to get them. A squirrel could. The fox muttered :That's ok, the grapes were sour anyway..."

When someone fails to attain something, and then badmouths that failed goal, that is a case of sour grapes.

A guy asks a cute girl out . She says no. He then spreads rumors that she is a dyke, or has a disease. That's another example

Hamilton may not realise it now but if one day he does become a Ferrari driver he will understand that he will be living a dreaming, a dream which he couldn't imagine from the outside world. Some people take longer to realise it, whilst others catch on more quickly.

I see a lot of hate towards Hamilton, and I would say fair enough back in 2007, or 2008, where he was part of cheating cocky ****s known as McLaren under Ron. ('We have the best drivers and we have the best car', said right after McLaren were found guilty of Ferrari documents)

But I feel he has matured a lot, and is a great driver. As a Ferrari fan, I would grow to love him, if he came, and his tone in this interview is very respectful, saying Ferrari is a great brand, but so is McLaren, where he is at. He comes from a generation where they grew up loving Senna and Prost at McLaren, so it is logical that they would love to drive for McLaren, instead of Ferrari. In fact, like many have said, Alonso felt the same, but look at him now.

I think to experience what Ferrari is, you have to come and drive for them, like Alonso has done, and I think Hamilton would feel the same if he came. We are now getting a new generation of drivers like Vettel, who have grown up watching the Schumacher domination, who will dream of Ferrari, so I don't see an issue here.

Button has been a lot more outspoken, and I daresay a little more disrespectful to Ferrari than Hamilton has ever been this year (Alonso not a worry :haha: )

I would take any driver that can win with Ferrari. All these quotes in the media are normally soundbites from interviews quoted out of context. If he has said this it says to me something has been sorted and they are cooling things down until an anouncement or more likley he has touted himself and been denied. Reminds me of when I turn to mates after a girl blows me out and saying I never fancied her anyway.

Whilst I don't care much for Hamilton as a person, he is a very fast driver. I would, in any case, support whichever drivers the team picks.

However, Alonso is the class of the field at the moment; the most complete driver out there bar none. He is our 'new' Schuey and will, I'm sure, win the WDC before his contract expires. Why would we want LH?

Grand Prix of France, Magny-Cours

Sunday 28 June 1998
Post race winners' press conference: 1. Michael Schumacher (Ferrari), 1hr 34:45.026s (190.963 km/h); 2. Eddie Irvine (Ferrari), 19.6 seconds behind; 3. Mika Hakkinen (McLaren-Mercedes), 19.7 seconds behind.

Q. Congratulations, Michael, on your 30th career victory in F1. Seeing the welcome you had from your team, we don't need to be told what it means for Ferrari to have taken a 1-2 result today!
MS: It's great to have the thirtieth win, and obviously it's very important for the championship. I don't remember Ferrari's last 1-2 result, and as Eddie says it was about time we did it again. We have worked very hard over the last couple of months and I want to pay my compliments to the two groups who have contributed so much to this success. One of them is the Goodyear company, who worked so hard to develop the new tyre that we only tested for the first time last week. It wasn't easy to get it into production for this race and they all worked flat out to do it. The other reason for our success is that we made some good aerodynamic steps, and I want to thank the factory for that.

Santander is just as interested in Massa staying behind Alonso as they are in Alonso winning. The old Ferrari !, 2 is definitely in there deal with Ferrari IMO. Lewis and Vettel would love to be in Alonso's seat. It's never going to be available untill ther all ready for retirement which means a ride at Merc or Indycar. So the boy is being honest, there is no dream! P.S. I do think Lewis is one of the best drivers in F1 now. Just look at it this way, 5 DNFs in 7 races and a grand total of 2 points, 57 points behind his teamate , and Ferrari fans here still want and think the chins got a shot! Lewis at 50 will never stink up the track that bad.

How can this be though brembo man? I thought you said it was Jean Todt (the jumper) and MS (the chin) that were responsible for corrupting Ferrari into single driver favouritism! :Hmm

Knowing how you hated that period so much for the detrimental effect it had on RB (the whinge)'s career, i'm assuming you either still blame the jumper and the chin for the fall of Ferrari or you will have had to rethink your logic. If you're asking the question seriously, then I'd have to say, there is no way to know because there are just too many variables in his life that impact on his driving to make that an easy prediction.

However, I can make an educated guess by asking some questions:

:cflag Is he the same driver who burst on the F1 scene, not so long ago? I have to say "no"!
:cflag Has he actually grown as a professional driver? Considering his "over-the-top" reactions when things don't go his way, I would have to say "no" again!
:cflag Does he have the stamina and the determination to stay with a team that needs to climb back up to the top? In all honesty, I don't see that kind of altruism in him.
:cflag Will he still be interested in driving if he doesn't win another WDC before he turns 30? I don't think believe so.
:cflag Will McLaren be interested in keeping him on, especially considering the salary he collects and the fact that he's "only" good at driving and not in developing the car? I would suggest to you, the answer would be "no"!
:cflag If everything in their garage was still so "rosey", why would there even be any trace of a rumour suggesting he might be leaving, at the end of the season?

At the end of the day, Hamilton is definitely more subdued this year and also more consistent in bringing in points after each race; by, I don't see that lasting, when the pressure is on. He does seem to be keeping out of trouble / accidents, I'll grant him that; but, if neither he nor McLaren acquire any championships before then, 2015 will seem like a lifetime away.

p.s. not sure where you were educated in Mathematics; but, you might like to revisit your calculation of Schumi's age!! :-P

The chin got his birth certificate at the same place Bam got his. "Toys R us." He's in his mid 50s, that's why he can't finish a race, and racked up 2 points so far. Sfontatezza. E' un peccato!

You're obviously still pretty bitter that Schumi doesn't drive for Ferrari any more!! I wish that was different; however, the real sin is the lack of respect for a driver who is a huge part of the success Ferrari enjoyed!! :lou

All the current drivers are fine as they are in their teams. Also its not fair to judge Shumi this year since 4 of the retirements weren't his errors.

How do you work that out? Why would he spend 99.9% of his posts twisting the subject of forum threads (this one being a perfect example) so that he can fulfil his life goal of degrading a driver who won 5 WDC's at Ferrari at every turn if he really wished MS was still at Ferrari?

One thing about our beloved brembo man that you will notice is that he never replies to things you ask him. That and the fact that he's the forum grudge holder.

He can't let go of the fact that RB knowingly agreed to fulfil the support role to MS for half a decade in the same way that many people cant let go of the fact that MS no longer drives for Ferrari.

However, we love him and we enjoy his abilities to twist threads to re-re-make his original point (which was made years and years ago now) because it gives us summat to do between races :-D

Yo! Homeboy what's goin on! Good to see your still in the mix. Todt be known as the midget, what be up with y'all callin him a jumper? Alonso is Santander's boy and he's great. Start watching the races again and see for yourself he put Ferrari back on top after a bad start. The boy got HEART! There be no midjet yellin in a radio "Let him pass!" Meanwhile your traitor miserable bum of a driver without the midjet be 57 points behind his teamate! Managing to rack up 2 points on his own!! Whinging like a fool that he is about Pirelli's tyres untill he got a pole pos. on the same rubber!! 8 million a year and he can't finish a race! A good businessman I'll give him that.

Hello brembo man :wave

now, let me see...... where are my translation specs......

err.... is this right?

1. Hello Tifosi, Good to see you are still an active member of TSN. 2. To correct you, my preferred derisory term for Jean Todt is "the midget". 3. I believe that Fernando Alonso (and therefore Ferrari) are employed and controlled by a struggling Spanish bank, and I like him. 4. I don't think you have been following his time at Ferrari and the progress Ferrari has made since he joined. Fernando has HEART! 5. Jean Todt has not asked another driver to "Let Fernando pass him" since Fernando joined Ferrari because Jean Todt is not at Ferrari anymore. 6. Meanwhile, Michael Schumacher (who I do not respect) is unable to score more points than his team mate specifically because Jean Todt does not work for Mercedes. 7. Additionally, Michael's comments about the fact that tyres are affecting the racing in F1 too much is invalidated by the fact that he got a pole position using those very tyres. 8. He is paid £8 million a year but he can't finish a race, which makes him a good businessmen.

OK, in "answer" to the "points" you make:

1. Thank you brembo, it's good to see you are still able to type, although the lack of clarity of your pseudo ghetto influenced vernacular is a little concerning and takes much effort to understand these days.
2. Sorry, "The Midget" - how could I forget? :-)
3. Yes brembo man, Fernando is indeed good but I don't agree with you that Santander is now in control of his soul or actions, or indeed that of the team he drives for.
4. Yes, I have been following Fernando since he joined Ferrari and yes, I agree he has HEART!
5. You are correct. I believe it was Stefano Domenicali (the glasses) - via Luca Di Montezemolo (the boss) who asked Rob Smedley (the patsy) to do that (presumably because Jean Todt was no longer at Ferrari)
6. Hmmm. I think Mercedes should hire Jean Todt as quick as possible if he is that good :-)
7. Up to your usual standard of logical conclusion bm ;-)
8. To be honest, I think he's a good businessman regardless of his performance.

As a final note, i'd like to say that your never ending assumption that any member of TSN that doesn't have the same illogical venom for Michael Schumacher as your good self does not give you the right to suggest that they are Michael Schumacher supporters when he is driving for another team. It doesn't. I know it forms the very nub of your existence and always has on these forums but most of us can come to terms with what happened at Ferrari when he was driving for us - as indeed we can with what is happening now.

Catch you soon daddio! etc. etc. :thumb

well tbf, not many of us relish discussing Hami not wanting to drive for Ferrari when not many of us want him to in the first place. :-)

We could always call him names I suppose to get back "en topic" :Hmm

Can anyone of you silver hearted Ferrari fans even acknowledge the fact that the Ferrari CAR put the chin on top during Ferrari's golden years. Just like his present Merc ride and throw in those Pirellis [Exept for his pole on the same Pirellis] are the reason he stinks up the track now, not him. WE were 5x champions , Ferrari. He was lucky enough to be driving The CAR!

Not even close IMO! Vettel's rocketship was 90%, him & luck were the other 10. Brawn's car was 98%, Button 2. The chin's Ferrari was 85% he was 15. So now how about 2012, Alonso IMO was 85% the car 15. Now the car and him are even @ 50 50. Over at Merc, how could it be Nicos doing just fine in his ride with Pirellis strapped on, and the chin can't get out of his own way? Ross would never stick the chin with less car than Nico.

Brembo man, do you know how much Tifosi has missed you? He's been basically a depressed wreck since you stopped "bantering" with him and wanted to know what he had done wrong? ;-) You better tell him because his crying on my shoulder is ruining my clothes.

:rotfl Well the problem is down home don't be understandin Ebonics! He be thinkin it's just messed up English. Back to F1, if he will admit Lewis' girl friend is a 10 and Danica Patrick deserves to be Nico's teamate at Merc. All will be forgiven and the bantering will resume.
P.S. I feel bad all over more than anyplace else to have put you through that pain. Please accept my humble apology.

Perscription glasses or contacts are available for either the near or farsighted. She's a 10 all over! :rotfl I'm definately cool with Massa @ Ferrari for the duration. But Lewis is IMO one of the best drivers in town. He's dreamin Ferrari for sure, just not #2 to Alonso.

I'd take Hamilton just to slap Mclaren in the face. Their golden child, the produce of Ron leaving for Ferrari will be yet another show of dominance over Mclaren. It would be like steeling an enemies wife just because you can. At the 1st sign of a bad period we can then throw him out. Lets use him and abuse him.

This young british griver is one of the best to ever come along. Disliking Ron is one thing, not acknowledging the great talent of this brit. is rediculous, Lewis is a great F1 driver.

Hamilton has potential. he is a former champ. One of the best? When he finishes if he has multiple titles then yes. So far his best year was his 1st when he had the element of surprise, since then including title year he has got worse and worse but this year looks great. Ferrari should take him just to see and if works great if not put him on ths rubbish pile. I am open to finding out.
