Good day everyone... :wave
A small drama before the race :-P
Pirelli has asked Formula 1 teams to limit running on the tyres in Sunday's Indian Grand Prix on safety grounds. Teams have been asked not to use the 'soft' tyre for more than 15 laps and the 'medium' for no more than 35 laps.
Governing body the FIA is refusing to order the teams to follow the advice. But if any teams goes beyond the limit and hit problems they could be brought before the stewards and asked why they ran their cars in a dangerous configuration.
It is the latest in a series of controversies to hit Pirelli this season that have tested the patience of teams and senior F1 figures.

Pirelli can't make copettitive tyres for F1,need to send them home and get another manufacturer to supply tyres.

Look, what Pirelli is saying, I don't see the problem, who is going to use the soft longer than 15 laps, it's foolish considerring the lap times. If you do a 10 lap stint on softs, that leaves 50 laps, so 2 times 25 laps, way under 35... don't think someone is going to do a one stopper

I have been thinking all morning (for me) about strategy.. can't figure it out.. don't see why there should be a big difference, unless a lot of traffic (wil depend on the P10-15 starters (medium or soft to start on) and safety car..
EDIT: or first stint will be very important, we don't need to fight the guys on the softs, but need to try to push them, so they can't extend their stint, and also, hoping the gap at the moment of their first stop isn't that big.. than, we have clean air and we need to do a good pace.. depending on what the others do we will need to see when we pit and which tyre..
For Felipe, he needs to be on full full attack in the first lap, good start take Mark, attack the Merc, full attack, than pit early, trying an undercut, not like what we have been doing with Fer the last races (staying out longer and loosing time), if this works out perhaps the Merc loose time behind Felipe, which is good for Fernando.. I don't thik we can fight the Mercs on the same strategy

Massa went against advised Ferrari strategy
Oct.27 (GMM/Inautonews.com) Felipe Massa has revealed he passed over Ferrari’s advice in devising his race strategy for the Indian grand prix.
The Brazilian, who is leaving the Italian team after an eight-year career in red, said his engineers wanted him to qualify on the longer-lasting, harder tyres.
“I made a different decision to them,” Massa is quoted by Brazil’s Totalrace.
“At the Nurburgring I did what the engineers said and it didn’t work, so I took a different decision this time.”
The strategy, with Massa on the fast-wearing soft tyres, is the same as pole sitter Sebastian Vettel’s, who would like to wrap up his title on Sunday with a win.
But Mark Webber, in the sister Red Bull, thinks qualifying on the harder tyres was actually a wiser choice.
“We’re in a good position to capitalise,” said the Australian.
Vettel commented: “What turns out to be the right strategy, we’ll find out in the race.”
In the same car as Massa, Ferrari’s Alonso is three places behind the Brazilian on the grid. But the Spaniard said he was unwilling to qualify on the soft tyre.
“I don’t want to be always critical of the tyres,” he is quoted by Italy’s Autosprint, “but these (soft) tyres are not good.
“It’s a fact. It’s random. Yesterday on a set of softs I did 16 laps with good times.
“Today I could only do three until they disintegrated,” he was quoted after qualifying by Spain’s Marca.
“So the race will depend on the tyres, because no two sets are alike.”
Alonso admitted that, if a “normal” race takes place on Sunday, Vettel will easily be crowned world champion.
A great debate is raging at the moment about whether the German, to probably be a quadruple world champion before the Indian sun sets, can now lay claim to F1 ‘greatness’.
“No, I don’t think he’s on another level (to other good F1 drivers),” said Lotus’ Romain Grosjean.
“I think he’s doing a very good job and has a very good car, and the combination of the two is very competitive.
“They (Red Bull) have a very good team, a very good driver and a great car,” he is quoted by Marca.

The reason for the FW damage is the ridiculous strategy. Alonso could have started from second place, out of any danger. I find that comment from Massa a bit disrespectful towards the team and his mechanics to be honest. Especially after we kept re-signing him despite being poor for the last three seasons. He's lucky he wasn't at a different top team because they wouldn't have had such loyalty towards him when he wasn't performing.
Maybe his team should give him no strategy advice and see how far that gets him. Getting bitter, just like Rubens, which is a shame.

Luckily for you Raikkonen will always be respectful towards the team.
