Let's get it on!

Let's go, lower temps might change things around with some luck :-)

I'm hoping at least one of our drivers to make it to Q3. That would be some achievement considering our pace.

I don't think we were disguising our pace. That pace in fp3 is very indicative.

Forzi
2nd November 2013, 14:00
Already 5C down to what we had in FP3.

fratelliferrari

2nd November 2013, 14:20
So where is all the moaners from the practice thread now?

Jas
2nd November 2013, 14:20
we do like to leave it late don't we...track evolution massive!

fratelliferrari
2nd November 2013, 14:21
Pff my hands are sweating

Jas
2nd November 2013, 14:21
So where is all the moaners from the practice thread now?

I think this week they have an excuse, we have been dismal to say the least!

Ed Harley
2nd November 2013, 14:22
Twitchy perhaps but the speed is there. At least in the Q1.

Greig
2nd November 2013, 14:22
I think this week they have an excuse, we have been dismal to say the least!

In sessions that are not relevant to qual and the race though.

sky analysing massa off track in final corner despite everyone else...great work sky...not!

Aberracus
2nd November 2013, 14:24
So we have been sandbagging Greig?

Or we have been lucky with the temp and track grip improvement?

Anyway I take it, amazing!

Jas

very close times, last lap run will be very important!

FerrariF60
2nd November 2013, 14:25
WE're still a long way's down compared to others...so i think P8, P9 is about all we can squeeze out in Q3 out of this MULE this weekend

Kyss4k
2nd November 2013, 14:25
In sessions that are not relevant to qual and the race though.

Right, they are doing quali simulations, but it's not relevant at all... Only it always was. It could be Ferrari sandbagging for the first time this season, condition working for us, or just others not going flat out while we did. Let's wait and see, but it did look tragic in FP3 which mostly match whith what we see in quali.

Greig
2nd November 2013, 14:26
So we have been sandbagging Greig?

Anyway I take it, amazing!

Track temps were obviously going to drop for qual and the race since they are run at dusk, night. So not sure how it would be lucky?

Erm when you run FP3 in blazing sun, and qual in dusk/night you will find the temps very different meaning practice is not really all that relevant to the pace needed.

Conditions worked for us? did you not expect temps to drop when the sun goes away LOL.

Just saw Q1 results, looked as if it was 2007 season.

Forzi
2nd November 2013, 14:27
Track conditions changing, temperatures dropping and the surface is evolving. We might see some intresting things later on. Looks like it's helping us a bit.

Yes, but for all season the higher the temperature was, the better we were. I wouldn't expect it to change suddenly. If it did, it's surprising... at least for me.

Forzi
2nd November 2013, 14:30
What's the hurry for everyone if the track is evolving so much? Old tires?

Kyss4k

What's the hurry for everyone if the track is evolving so much? Old tires?

Yep. First on old soft tyres, then one run on fresh.

Alonso very rarely improves his time from Q2 to Q3 (that's if we make Q3)

Poltergeistes
2nd November 2013, 14:47
the car seems to have a mind of it's own.

tomorrow's race will be very difficult for us, our chances of scoring points will be if the rivals fails or if we do some great strategies, because the car is very hard to handle.

Kyss4k

So did Alonso.

Jas
2nd November 2013, 14:48
It's not really.

you really don't get the point, if we were a 10th behind redbull but 5 cars between us that still is not good enough, I couldn't care if we were a second behind red bull but starting second! That's the point!

sorry to get in the middle here, but i thought it was a known fact that we stopped working on the 2013 car since the season is lost anyway, i think ferrari wants the 2nd place in wcc but only with what they already have had for the past 5 or 6 races, to us that little extra money for 2nd or 3rd in wcc isn't going to make it or break the team, like it is for lotus for instance.

Yea right, I enjoy it so much... You are the one who is attacking people here. You are the one who keep quoting people, who didn't even react to you, with sarcastic comment. It's not polite and on forum where any kind of hars word is censored, doing this seams highly inappropriate.

As more cars join the top ten pack (Mclaren and Sauber are having their say recently), the slightest mistake becomes even more costly.

Good on Felipe, really upped his game since the news that he's leaving. Fernando needs to up his quali game. Can't seem to remember if he did these kind of mistakes last year, but can recall quite a few this season.

Still wondering about Lewis spin in S3. Many drivers went past him, while yellow flags were out, and got their fastest times in. Will we see penalties?

No we don't want to be, but if we are then so be it, will it make you support less? Ferrari is not all about winning for me. Ferrari have a long history of being mediocre amongst flashes of brilliance. If you can't support them during the bad times then that is your call.

No we don't want to be, but if we are then so be it, will it make you support less? Ferrari is not all about winning for me. Ferrari have a long history of being mediocre amongst flashes of brilliance. If you can't support them during the bad times then that is your call.

From Ferrari.com:

The bare facts are that Fernando Alonso failed to get into the final part of qualifying for the very first time this season. But there’s a separation between one’s perception of that fact as a terrible showing and the reality, which is that the Spanish Ferrari man is eleventh on the grid, on the clean side of the track. In other words, it’s not as bad as the shock of seeing him giving interviews to the press while the final top ten shoot out was still going on.

It's all very well hoping Kimi will get a penalty but they may yet do the same to Felipe for having all 4 wheels off the track in Q1 (or was it Q2). It's not going to make much difference if the Lotus performs as it did in India. Just pray that wherever our boys start, we don't have any contact and can reel some of the others in on our race pace, although with the lack of traction that's a big ask. Oof....haven't been able to watch qualy, but this is sad. I mean sad because all those guys - drivers, mechanics etc. - are working as hard as they can, but the fact is that it is simply not possible anymore to make this car competitive.
Felipe is doing great, his motivation to show hwo good he really is makes him going faster than the car can.
Fernando, I don't know if it is the case but how difficult must it be to give more than you have time after time in these circumstances? Maybe Felipes motivation is beating Fernando's at the moment, I don't know.
What I do know that tomorrow we will see two drivers again who will do their maximum and more to score as high as possible.
If that means a 6th or 7th place, it doesn't matter anymore, we must cheer for them.

Ferrari aren't bringing in solid updates so the whole team is trying to maximize with what they've got and considering the race day results from previous weekends, I say its a pretty impressive effort.

Felipe seems to be concentrating more on qualifying and starting races from higher up the grid which means no more silly tangles with the back markers and this will surely help his future team owners in selecting him.

Regardless of where Fernando qualifies his race pace and relentless pass on race day alone is the joy of Sundays. And to top it off the media are desperately trying to create friction between him and Ferrari because Seb winning his 4th title in a row doesn't seem to be selling well.

Korea "oil leak"??? Sutil crashed into him
Frontwings were partly his responsibilities
Multi 21 was teamorder FOR him, not against, that Vettel disregarded

You find the picture "funny"?
Is it some sort of finnish humor?

In the sence that it has fails on purpose, trying to say that there were technical issues and webber being screwed in almost every race. Korea being the best example, oil leak = http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WR_K6sRI1xk

You could make a list for almost any driver like that with such flexible rules.

Edit. Marks problems aren't the thing I find funny but the reasoning behind the picture itself, sorry if it offended you

Lets hope we can mix it up tomorrow, the silly high temps didnt help us at all. As were overheating the tyres quickly. But, cooler race temps, good chances of overtaking all the way down too T7, fingers crossed keep out of trouble and gain afew and strong points for WCC, and 1 Merc DNF and Lotus :pray dita incrociate e permette di avere gara pulita.

Hai tanta ragione, Rob, speriamo per tutto!:thumb
