I get bored and suddenly I found out that i have nothing less than Gary Anderson to talk about the cars performance according to Jerez tests and have decided to state my prediction about competitive order in Australia 2014. Please let the others know your opinion.

1. McLaren will be reliable and 0.5 faster than RedBull.
2. RedBull will be second quickest but not reliable.
3. Ferrari, Mercedes and Lotus will be approximately equal in terms of pace and three of them are 0.2s slower than RedBull.

-Not to forget that i have a feeling that two of the midfield teams will be dark horse in the beginning of the season.

Please vote for the quickest team in 2014 too. Multiple choice is available.

Thank you.

I believe what's said about manufacturer teams having an advantage, at least in the beginning. So I predict Ferrari and Merc will probably be the top team. Between these two, I picked Ferrari just because it's Ferrari :-D But I really do believe that manufacturer will have an early advantage as we already understand what the new power unit requires, what it can and cannot do, and so we can come up with a good compromise from the get go.

Edit: I would say not to count out Red Bull, Williams and McLaren of course. But that wouldn't be a prediction if I covered so many teams.:-P

Farrari-Merc will be fighting for the win and propably for pole too but i have the feeling that we will be on top!!!I truly believe that we have more to show then others!!!!
McLarens will be near there on the podium!!!Lotus will propably fight with McLaren!!
RedBulls will have some problems in the start and that they will not gona be that mach powerful inthis nea era of F1!!!!

Can't really say since we just saw launch cars on track, with none of them even pushing a lil bit. If i had to guess, i'd go with McLaren. They've been getting ready since last years summer and i'd say they seem to be the most innovative team so far. They got the people, the money and the tools to build a good car. Let's not forget that they had the best one in 2012.

Mercedes,
Ferrari/Williams
Sauber/Force India

Way too early to predict or even try. Thats why i will wait and see till quali 3. Just do not count RBR out, yeah they have had issues. Got a month to sort out gremlins for the start of the season. Im not defending them or cheering for them, i hate them, hate to strong a word, i respect them, but dont like them. But they have the resources to get on top of it.

Big question is, is the RB10 going to be Neweys Mclaren MP4-18 (think that is the right one) that was really unreliable and didnt race :pray

Pessimism brings no disappointments, so Mercedes will be almost as good as Ferrari as another Car/Motor team ;-)

Very slightly off topic but it's a matter of great importance to me
(a) where can I read the sainted Gary's above mentioned opinions please?
(b) am I right in thinking Gary's not in the BBC TV team this year?:-s

Would love to say Ferrari, but as of now, Merc seem to have an edge over us.

Btw, I love the 0% on Red Bull :-D

What do you mean by "the quickest"? The quickest in raw pace or the quickest over the race distance while making it to the chequered flag?
As for the answer... Ferrari

As the question is not clear, I refrain from voting.
My bets:
Quickest on Saturday: Mercedes (Rosberg mostly)
Quickest on Sunday: Ferrari (Alonso mostly)

Ferrari vs Mercedes vs Mclaren in races with Redbull fighting hard in the odd race.

I genuinely dont believe red bull will be anywhere as invincible as they have been in the past few years.

Surely i dont count them out , theyl be strong but the difference is the above 3 will be better this year.

I expect Mclaren to start lagging somewhere midway with us and silver arrows taking it to the finish. Maybe the whole double points nonsense might decide it.

I hope we seal the year at Brazil or Abu Dhabi with both our drivers in contention for the WDC even then

Think Mclaren and Merc will be on top, but not by much. Ferrari will be second.. might be better in the race though. Williams i expect will challenge in the initial rounds. RBR.. no idea. With Adrian Newey, i would never count them out.
I voted Mercedes. I rather not say stuff and jinx us. :-D

We don't know enough to really make an educated guess as testing is just testing and it is still a long way to go till Australia.

But my prediction is still a Ferrari first and second.

Then it won't be a prediction anymore now will it?

Really hard to predict now. Have to see the first Bahrain test. Gut feeling tells that Mercedes and Ferrari will be leading the pack, but can't count RBR out yet.

Ah. Thanks for the link.:-)
But how anyone can not want to know if Gary's on the BBC team or not is a mystery to me.;-)

I have never been so optimistic before a season starts as this time!
Cooling aswell as downforce numbers match the teams expectations, no reliabilty problems, a very confident team and the best driver pairing on the grid, so there is no any reason to be pessimistic! :-)

So from what we have seen so far I expect Ferrari to have the best car in Melbourne closely matched by Mercedes and Mclaren.

I couldn't have said it better !! Ferrari looks great. Alonso and Kimi in the right cars, unbeatable !

I don't think it will be a Renault powered car but never rule out Adrian Newey to get the job done !!!!:roll
If Ross were still there I would say Mercedes without a shadow of a doubt but there again he has done the spade work ????????
So by those deductions it has to be Ferrari :-)

I'm saying Marussia, the mere thought of trying to answer this topic correctly is laughable. Not wanting to jinx us, either.

McLaren will likely be strong too. They gave up last season so early and put their full focus to this year much earlier than any other top team.
And Merc engine doesn't seem to be too bad either.. Good thing is that they(probably) doesn't have a super fast driver right now

According to Gary Anderson we're the fourth best team :rotfl

I voted for Ferrari. I think they are in excellent shape this year. But Mercedes will be very strong and maybe Magnussen will surprise us all. Can't count out red bull but they have major teething problems so I don't think they will be major threat until possibily much later into the season. It's high time that a different team wins and there is nothing better than seeing a Ferrari do that!

My gutt feeling says that we'll be better than the lot, with a second Merc and Mclaren fighting it off with RBR.

Reality says that it's too early to tell.

Let 's see what happens.

For the rest, nothing surpising there.

I - really - have - no - idea - this year......maybe after the Bahrein tests things will be a bit clearer, but up till now I don't have a clue. Ferrari and Mercedes power seems reliable, Renault doesn't, but that's about it......
