Despite having two Drivers' Championship titles to his name, Fernando Alonso insists that is "not enough".

Winning back-to-back titles with Renault in 2005 and 2006 many expected Alonso would kick especially after joining Ferrari in 2010.

However, the Spaniard has fallen short of the mark three times, losing out to Sebastian Vettel in 2010, 2012 and again last year.

This year, though, the 32-year-old is determined to get back to winning ways.

"If you ask me this question in 10 years' time I will tell you less, because two Championships are more than I could dream," he told CNN.

"If you ask me right now and I am in a middle of a competition, I am hungry for victories; hungry for success - I will tell you that two Championships are not enough."

Alonso, though, will have more than just Vettel to overcome this season as Ferrari have brought in Kimi Raikkonen to spur on their challenge.

"I think he's very talented so that is a huge help and a huge motivation for myself first and also for the team, because the team knows it has to deliver a good car because Kimi will deliver a good result," Alonso said.

"I know I need to deliver my best, if not I cannot be in front of Kimi, so that is only good and positive news for Ferrari."

I'm a fan of the guy, so I guess I can't help it, but I hope he gets a least one title with Ferrari, I think he deserves it, sadly I don't think his stats will reflect his talent at the end of his career, at some point something went wrong.

With just a slight change in fortune Alonso could be a 5 times champ right now, and I doubt anyone could really complain if he was. 2007, 2010, 2012. To win 2 titles and just miss out on another 3 on the last day of the season does reflect his talent I think.

Let's hope that in the future we will remember him as one of the greatest of all times and how much he did wearing the reds!!!!!!

I'm "joining" Scuderia since I've seen my first F1 race when I was a kid: it was Monza 1988 ... Since then I was big supporter and fan (don't know if you can be a tifoso if you're not an Italian ... for me it goes hand in hand somehow).

And I loved the combination of drivers we had in those years. Of course not that great success but there was always something special. However unfortunately destiny robbed the opportunity that my favourite driver all time - Senna - will ever wear red too. And unfortunately the driver which I couldn't stand in any kind (maybe because I'm Austrian) became the most successful Ferrari driver all the time. Which cause a kind of Jekyll and Hyde feeling.

But with Alonso in the place now - for me - is where heart and brain say it fits so well. And even we were not successful as we would like - I'm really glad that this guy joins the most emotional team in the F1. I wasn't sure after what had happened at McLarens there ... but now I'm really pleased he is here ... even it is difficult times ...

2010 should have been in the bag
2012 was undoubtedly his best ever career performance and could have gone either way. Vettel was extremely lucky in the last race

2014 is a new era and if we start off with a competitive car we really need to make the most of it. We have two extremely talented drivers so it shouldn't be a problem. However, Alonso is getting older so he doesn't have long to do it and it would be terrible for him to not at least win 1 more title.

Hopefully this will finally be our year of success and happiness. 2014 is the year of the horse, so maybe that's a good omen. :-)
