If it's going to rain, then that could turn everything upside down and we might even see a Caterham on pole lol :lol
But anyway, Forza Ferrari!!! Let's go try to make the best out of it.

We may be preserving the race engine in FP3... once we turn up everything to it's maximum capacity we should be much closer...

We may be preserving the race engine in FP3... once we turn up everything to it's maximum capacity we should be much closer...The question is can we turn everything to max cause Ferrari said they strugle a bit with that.
Both Kimi and Fernando were loosing a lot of time in sector 2. Sector 1 was acually pretty good for Fernando and they were loosing time, but not as much as in sector 2, in sector 3.

For Quali, we may be able to. For race it might not be that easy.

Marc Gené said that in this session all cars would show their true pace. Not race setup. Ferrari was not going to pay attention to any fuel consume indicators...

Hard to make a comparison as the conditions seems to be different. Merc looks happier today, while many others less so, including Vettel.
But there's more than enough time for the team to carry out setup changes if needed to.

As engines are supposed to last for five races all will be racing with least possible effort enough in order to save engines and fuel. Victory by half a second is enough for everybody.

Hard to say whats happening pace wise as big gaps between teamates due to weather. What looks certain is Merc are fastest in quali for now but not by as much as some predicted. I think the race will be closer than many predict. I just want both Ferrari's to finish.
All cars are still at different stages of development. Keep picking up points and stages of development will converge by half way through the year then we will see who has best designs.

Are you blind? We were nowhere near Merc other then 1st free practice. You keep saying (every year) it's just testing, wait till Australia quali. Oh it's just quali, wait for the race. Oh it was just the first race, wait till Barcelona... Oh it's not over till it's over.
When did it worked out? As an engine manufacturer we had an massive advantage (it was said even by Luca) and while Merc managed to used it, we failed. We had all the tools, money and time. We kept talking about how this is our chance.
And we got ripped appart by Mercedes. Even RB looks like a faster car, after no testing.

Alonso will be on the podium tomorrow. Looking at the guys ahead he will break into the top 3. Having said that, an already complicated weekend got worse. Earlier on p3 rosberg and hamilton complained about tires overheating. That could be a problem tomorrow. The redbull might breakdown. Kevin might be slow with too much rear down force. Poor race starts.
The list goes on. So I think we might be in for a good weekend. Hopefully our car was setup more towards race trim.
Call me optimistic, but after all, this is only our first race.

This is hard to take, some would say what do you expect but I expected a little better today after so many rule changes and a new beginning, the car seemed hard to drive and we look to be back to the usual Alonso 5th on the grid and the second driver around 10th position, I know it's only Saturday and points are awarded on Sunday but we are once again playing catch up. All that said the hard part is the race and this is where I think we could do well, and it is still to early to really judge but me personally I can not take another season of disappointment. 15th March 2014, 08:41
I don't think we need to judge now. Fact is our car isn't the fastest out there, so we can complain about that. Fact is that last year our car wasn't the fastest either, still we won races in a dominant way in the first half. Question is still how will racing be. We all would have loved for us to be dominating, and that's not the case, so we can be dissapointed about that. But how will racing in 2014 be? Tyres, fuel, reliability, ... How many pole's did Merc have last year? How many did we have? Still in the WCC we had almost the same amount of points. I'm not saying this will be the case this year. But nobody knows. I remember last year Melbourne, waking up at Friday and seeing RBR beeing 1s faster, even in qualy when it rained and Seb made mistakes he took pole. But what was the podium like? Who would have expected that? Suddenly tyres were very important. At this point, we don't know anything, perhaps after tomorrow we will know more, perhaps we don't.
I agree with you that our car isn't the fastest and it should be, so I'm dissappointed, but that's not everything in F1. The thin that dissapoints me the most is our strategy in Q3. I don't get why we got out on inters.. Thank god we switcht to wet later on because otherwise we wre p8-P10 or sometging

Indeed, you can say what you want, every driver makes a mistake now and then, but I don't think we need to blame our drivers. Kimi as some issues right now, but that wel go.
