Interesting... Renault, Williams McLaren all mentioned as having some involvement, there has to be some information gained that can benefit their F1 programs! I hope Ferrari have some connections in this, as it could help immensely with understanding best ways to harvest & deploy the recovered energy.

I've raced electric go-carts... its kinda odd to be accelerating and hear no engine noise lol. I like my 5.7ltr solid roller V8 screaming at a 7500rpm shift. This silent race car stuff is for the birds...

That was exactly what caught my attention, as well as several shots of Jean Todt playing a prominent role in the rollout of this series. 10 teams, 20 drivers, 10 races (3 in Europe, 3 in South America, 2 in Asia, 2 in the USA). And the teams include names like Audi, Super Aguri, Virgin, and Andretti
It is setting up to be sort of a shadow F1 series, but all-electric. They even have a nifty website http://www.fiaformulae.com/home
My bet is that this is the next step in the evolution of F1, and this series is the trial horse. Like abbottcostello, I find it very interesting that Renault, McLaren and Williams are playing a prominent role in the development of this series, and that there is no mention of Ferrari or Fiat.

Thanks for the link Kiwi Nick, gonna go check that out.
To be honest, I find the whole Formula E concept interesting & will definitely be watching how it goes.

That is the essence of green evolution. I wonder when is Formula1 going to be petrol free?

never, its F1, if wanted fuel free, then it would be super Formula-E.
