Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but it seems to be the best one. Anyway cut to the chase, I was clearing out my old VHS recordings in the loft and found the tape i made on the day of the Japanese GP 2000 When Michael Schumacher won the epic duel with McLaren's Mika Hakkinen to end Ferrari's 21-year wait for the drivers' world championship. It is the WHOLE BBC recording from pre race to after. This is my question, i cannot find anything already on the web other than highlights, I can convert it to DVD and then to MPEG to upload on the Web. Would anyone be interested i do that, or have i missed it and its already there to watch?

Yea, I think many of them are available but its always good to check.
I too have a huge vhs collection of races going back to the 80's.
Love watching them.

Looks like everyone has access, I only asked as i did not mean to watch much of it, then an hour later and memory lane fully restored I thought others might want to share too. I forgot just how intense that race was, the years after made me forget just how nervous we all were to clinch the title that year and how unrelenting Mika was all through the race! :-)

I say go for it, steelstallions - I guarantee there will always be someone who wants to see it.

The main thing I remember about that race is how exhausting it was - Mika and Michael were truly a cut above the rest that day. Then I remember Murray Walker's commentary and me having a little cry at the footage of Michael in Parc Ferme with his head in his hands. How brilliant he was :-)

Not quite... Not to be considered as geek and weirdo, I have since 1994 ALL complete Formula 1 races where Ferrari won on DVD. Even today I am recording all races in hope that I'll put it in my collection of Ferrari victories... First I was recording them on my VHS, and when I bought back in 2005 DVD recorder, I was recording them on disc. I have transfered all my VHS collection to DVD's but unfortunately some of tapes were to old and got all messed up, so I was not able to transfer them on disc. I am not not sure which one I am missing, but I remember when I was trying to find them as torrent I couldn't :-(.
I'll look up into my collection and I'll ask from you all help!

I am not recording from web to PC. I have Dreambox 500HD - 5924, digital satellite receiver, I am watching SKY Germany and recording races to SONY RDR-GX750DVD recorder - 5925.

It began in 1998 for me so I was like 7 years old right then :-D I was a smart kid very early as you will understand :-G
