please people, yes its great for a front row lock out, but dont tempt fate saying 1-2 today already. At Spa 24hrs, really sad had #55 kaspersky Ferrari taken out by a Merc trying to overtake Marco. #55 car had been leading all race until early hours this morning when the Merc lunged down the inside of Marco and broke the steering and he crashed hard at Eau Rouge.

So until we round the last corner on last lap i will not say anything about how we should finish today.

My sentiments exactly, Rob, I don't want to sound pessimistic but we all know that the things can go wrong very easily and I prefer to live in the real world until the finishing line is reached! Great shame about the #55 Ferrari at Spa, typically trashed by a Merc. :-E We all want the same result, best of luck ragazzi!:pray

1-2 will revive our WCC chances, we really need this before the summer break. Lewis was very pessimistic saying a miracle needs to happen to pass both Ferraris. However, i wouldn't write off Bottas just yet. We all know what happened in Russia. That's why we need a good tactical start.

When it comes to strategy, 2 stop?

i think 2 stopper is the best when working with clear air, might be bunched up if pit to early and overcut could be better, that first two straights will be where mercs have the best chance to jump us like in russia

mizf1
30th July 2017, 11:59
Bottas has to remember these 2 things.

1. Try not to jump the lights
2. Remember to brake for T1 and not use Kimi/Seb as a stopping block

Here's what Lewis Hamilton had to say earlier, and he definitely feels the start will be crucial to his hopes of victory this afternoon.

“It’s a very long run down to Turn One so there’s an opportunity there. It is so hot today so I think it will be interesting to see who can make the tyres last and who can’t.

“They had the problem in the last race so whether that will bear any impact today will be interesting.

“The undercut is a little bit important but it’s about trying to go forwards whether it’s by their mistakes, the start, undercut, degradation. We’ll see.”

If tyre wear comes into play, don't count out the Red Bulls today from row three.

Unlike Mercedes and Ferrari, they have both new soft and supersoft tyres available to them, which gives them better flexibility for a two stop race.

Both Verstappen and Ricciardo appeared quite confident after qualy yesterday, with the latter promising to get his elbows out in an attempt to improve on a relatively disappointing sixth on the grid.

now they will punish verstappen to help hamilton. jeez.
Bottas has done a lot worse but got away penalty free. Lewis got away with blocking, then they punish Kvyat this race. The stewards definitely help Merc whenever they can.
