food for thought:
44 touched or pushed or hit in 2022:
Alonso in Miami
Magnussen in Bercelona
Ocon in Monaco
Alonso again in Spa
Sainz in Zandvoort
Magnussen again in Monza
Sainz again in Spa
Russel in Mexico.
Ver in Brazil

1 touched or pushed or hit in 2022:
Nothing all season except 44 in Brazil

will we see sparks fly in abu dhabi?

I hope you’re right. I’d be very happy to see Max take the Affirmative Action Champion out. Even if Max wins. It’s worth having Lou-Lou throw a tantrum for a winless season.

It was amazing how Russell wasn't Rubenized ! Lewis didn't ask to "Let him pass!!" Hey! Charles, Max pay attention! :rotfl

That’s how yiu win a championship p, by having a clear #1
Otherwise the drivers will be taking points off each other and a team like red bull with a clear #1 will win the championship, PLAIN AND SIMPLE

I’m glad Binotto is gone from his TP position and the new TP will make sure will assign. #1 driver early in the season

As if Mercedes would take away Russell's maiden win?

Russell is leading Hamilton in points, so would not make sense anyway.

With Leclerc, he said the reason he mentioned it was because it was something they specifically discussed beforehand.

Because there is nothing at stake. Now do the same thing between Hamilton and Bottas. Merc not only had Bottas get out of the way but abandon attempts at fastest laps because THATS how you win championships! Inter-team battles never carry much benefit. Just look at McLaren in 2007.

What was . is; at stake is Lewis not winning 1 race for the first time! He still let Russell win. Lewis was always the better driver for Merc over Bottas. Look at the results!

Charles:

“Why are we so slow?”

Xavi: “Our pace is not great at the moment.”

Nice to see Ferrari in a such a good position as the end of the season :-??

Next year should be fun watching Verstappen and Hamilton battle for the championship while Ferrari fumbles over itself and concedes this rule cycle. I guess 2026 is our next chance?

Must be nice for Mercedes to have the FIA in their pocket to help them find 1.8 seconds in 1 season.

Yeah it will take us 3 years to recover from Charles not having good pace in this session.

Not just this session. He is down 0.749 on race pace as well. And I don’t know if you have been keeping track, we have got continuously worse as the season has progressed while our rivals have got quicker.

Yes yes, Binotto stopped developing this car months ago for 2023. Doesn’t mean I am confident in next year.

Ferrari will be 3rd in the championship.
Leclerc will be 3rd, if not 4th.

And Hamilton will continue this incredible record of winning 1 race each year.

Binotto says the news of his sacking is NOT true:

Mattia Binotto:

“I’m pretty relaxed. I always have open, frank and constructive discussions with my bosses.”

“Also, looking back at the season, we had a few ups and downs, but we achieved our main objective – to be competitive in the new era of 2022 cars.”

What are they worried about? It’s the last race, who cares if our engines go boom. You say we detuned them for reliability? Well here is your chance to turn them right up to test for next season. Obviously that 7 tenth increase is just another silly rumor…we will probably loose 7 tenths from this year rather than gaining it. Sorry to be so pessimistic, but this team is so frustrating and leaves us no hope for next year.

It's not just the engines but the tyre deg which is proving a huge problem, our season really disintegrated after the summer break and TD39 nonsense, all brought about by Mercedes who were the only beneficiaries. I am pleased the season is ending to give us a break from the disappointment and frustration we've had to suffer, along with our drivers.

So we sacrificed 2019, 2020 and 2021 for 2022. All to likely end up third…

Now we have sacrificed 2022 for 2023. When does it pay off? I still don’t believe any of these rumours…no way we are unlocking 7 tenths.

Their in season development was always a hallmark. Once again they showed the same this season.

Mercs & RB in season development are top notch. I hardly remember when did ferrari got right except last season might be.

Seb just said he talked to Charles just recently & told him that now that he is gone, he needs to keep pushing at Ferrari. He told Charles that he always wanted a street named after him in Maranello (inside the factory building).

Seb: "Now make sure you [Charles] get one."

Simon Lazenby on Carlos Sainz:

From Art:
Ferrari has lost its global chances due to a poor reliability that it is trying to improve in a significant way for next year. It is no longer a mystery that the Maranello power unit has never run at the maximum power level. We are probably talking about 25/30 hp, or 6/7 tenths.
