I must say I’m really surprised that we look that good given the pace we’ve had at the other high downforce track like Hungary...but I’m not gonna count my chickens yet as it’s still fp1
But early signs are definitely encouraging

On this 1st laps on medium, Sainz looks SO much faster then Lec. And this after Monza where he also had the edge.
Is he has picked up his pace, is Lec struggling?? Does this car come more to Sainz corner ??

New TD's this weekend. Resetting order after last years TD which affected Ferrari. If so bit worrying as next years car maybe to RB concept when pissibly that concept was so good due to flexi things which are now not allowed. Could be Ferrari concept was right all along but they got stung with last years TD? Will see how quali and race are here and for the rest of the year. Maybe today is just light fuel.

i saw on live , that Alo did 1:37:8+ on mediums, Piastri di 1:38:8+ , Ham did 1:38:4+ .Then they saw a window say the Lec was on a 1:38:0 pace ,but on that lap he did 1:38:4+

Long run pace not as strong as it was in FP1
We started at around the same pace as Lando + RB + Alonso + Mercs, but now 0.2-0.3 slower than the others, maybe the tyres are dead, Red Bull is consistently but not that quick, Alonso + Mercedes look very strong

so all the hype of our race pace from FP1 long run pace for nothing....
at least we've seem to implement something that works on high DF tracks that it didn't earlier in the season

Its great you can have a nice Friday evening and look forward to Saturday where on occasion they feed your enthusiasm even more but then comes Sunday, the tyre start to go, RB run and hide and Ferrari may or may not fend off Merc, Aston and Mclaren (on a good weekend).

But if the running order this weekend looks more like Baku, then everything i've watched and read about this coming weekend is wrong, and most of the F1 fanbase is clueless.

saying this track is similar to Hungary, so advantage Merc.
So Baku doesn't exist?
if you think oh, Hungary is more relevant because it is more recent, then you drastically overestimate in season car development

that would mean checo and alonso have the edge. Other than that it's really tight. Hard to say.
I also think qualifying doesn't matter as much here as before, more straight, more full throttle.
They added a DRS zone too no?

As I maintain always expect the unexpected .My take is that ferrari are on the pace and it's real. The pu plays 2nd to no one .Ferrari are over coming there issues quickly with the car they are holding there cards close and that how it should be hopefully no more internal leaks, with any progress made.Is an upset on the table in Singapore handing Red bull there first loss my opinion I'd most certainly.

That was a good qualifying. Wanted an 1-2 but alas. Charles lost the lap in turns 16-17.
But the elephant in the room is RB's performance. The car that dominated tracks like Monaco, Hungary is out of Q2. So one thing is clear, the technical directive has hurt them. Flexi floor clamp down has clipped their wing.

I too think the same, but we need to give one more race Suzuka.
As Singapore being one off circuit where Merc 2015 struggled & Now RB 2023. Although it’s a high Technical circuit, I don’t give much reading now on RB’s performance.

Without jumping to conclusions, it’s frustrating that this TD comes in once it’s all sewn up. We always get picked up early in the season and end up in a mess for a season plus putting it right. Fingers crossed we get the upper hand for once in 2024. Siamo arrivati sta settimana amici!!!

2015 Merc's strength was the engine, not the chassis. Ferrari won in technical tracks like Sepang and Hungary, RB should've won in Monaco if not Ricciardo's botched pitstop. So it wasn't that surprising for them to get beat in Singapore by Ferrari.
But this RB is an entirely different beast. Unstoppable up until now. So to me, it is not a coincidence that both RB are out of Q2 as soon as the FIA clamped down on flexible body parts of the car.
It looks like the repeat of last year's TD39.

You mistaked 2015 and 2016 Monaco race
Mercedes was the fastest teams in Monaco 2015
In Hungary the Mercs looked like once again the fastest team (front row locked out). Slow start and crashing with Ricciardo made them fell behind (Hamilton and Rosberg were closing the gap to Vettel lap by lap)

Great quali performance from both drivers, shame Charles couldn't make it a front-row lockout, good to see RB on the back foot for the first time in ages. Russell can be pretty aggressive and with NOR and HAM behind them, our tyre deg will probably be the problem as Merc also have extra mediums to play with. Hoping for a good, clean race.

That’s what it’s 50-50 at the moment. Baku is little similar to Singapore. RB were fastest in Baku & Monaco along with Ferrari.
Hence I’m surprised RB being very slow here. Literally struggled all FP’s. But on the other side, on Friday their race pace was very quick atleast from Perez. Hence I want to give one more race to see RB’s performance with regards to new TD.

Both Red Bull were out in Q2, something is definitely different with this car since the TD. This is not the same car that won all the races this year.
I hope this turns around the season because this was getting boring with Verstappen winning all the races. We will see if Red Bull start eating it's tires tomorrow, it could be indicative.
It will be interesting race and hope for both our guys to finish on the podium.

Ferrari never had a rocket in 2021
In 2019 we were quick cause we cheated ( some would say we had something innovative, but in essence we were cheating by tricking the fuel flow meter) hence why we had a quick car cause we were using more fuel
And in 2022 we also had a quick car at the beginning but it lived to be short due to TD39
It it’s funny how the FIA quickly jumped and introduced the TD39 in 2022 just after a few races, yet this year with red bull took them 13 races to implement this TD after they pretty much won both championships....
