Hey guys,
according to James Allen Alonso ran with the new RW in second session..so was Alonso's best time set with the new RW or Old RW??
if it was set with the new rear wing then there is definitely room for improvements..
According to Pat Fry,Fernanado was evaluating the updates while felipe was concentrating on Set-up..
could this mean that fernando has yet to use the optimal set-up,so maybe he can go quite a bit faster..
i pray we do not revert to "damage limitation" again !!
I think everyone is finally realising that there is no fixing this mule and serious questions need to be asked from the team, as they have created a dud two years in a row, and have had the fastest car just once or twice in the last 4 years, while redbull and mclaren frequently alternate between the fastest. Our updates are a joke, and that not work apart from the exhaust which we copied, and once again our big update fails when we need it most. If they could just make the car as quick or even close to the top cars Alonso will do the rest, but they cant even do that. I expect Mclaren and Vettel to crush him this weekend and it will take a lot of luck to win the title because this car is so terrible. Without Alonso's miracles everyone would be saying its the worst ferrari in 20 years which it is.
One of the commentators during the 2nd Practice mentioned that Seb's car was showing signs of off-throttle blowing under braking, when he was doing one of his many fastest laps. I wouldn't be surprised if RB was cranking up their off-throttle blowing in desperation due to their failures in Monza.
My question however the aero package you need for a track, how the hell do they become front runners again after showing real average perfs the previous 2 GPs? We don't see Lotus or Williams jumping to the front this weekend? They are on to something with there engine again!
I want some heads to roll after the end of this season, even if ALO claims the WDC in this mule. And there's no point in making Fry or Tombazis scapegoats, just as Dyer was made one...i think Domenicali should be sacked...there has been a pathetic dip in the team's quality ever since his takeover back in 2008...we had a good car that year, but all its successors have been duds, barring the F2010 to some extent. These people are tarnishing Ferrari's legacy....
Id rather have RB winning a race than the Maccas. The F2012 has often been better than the RB8,esp in quali pace(Spa,Monza) but the MP4-27 is the best overall package and HAM is closest to ALO,so i fear the Maccas more...
They are going to come up with some stupid excuse again i.e "We need to run this mapping to avoid any alternator issues bla bla bla, we are cheats and we know it".
@anialonso : It means nothing. No setup can give us the half a second we need in order to claim pole....lets face it,the updates, esp the rear wing, are crap...
Seems like there is alot of fair weather sailors around here at the moment. When we do well and quick, everyone happy and say the best team in world. But when in PRACTICE, we are running own programmes and data collection, and finish in PRACTICE 3,4,5th or out of top 10 eveyone (same people) jump up and down saying team can not develope car, Fernando should take credit for getting the car where its is, the team are rubbish, made a dud of a car, etc etc.
So what this track doesnt suit us like Monza, well high downforce and low down force. We knew from the off we would find it hard to be competitve here. Win as a team, loose as a team. So what we not 1 second clear of the field, those days are gone, regulations changed to stop teams from running away with the title by Spa, wish we could have those days back. But as long as team and drivers doing 110% every race, and at every development, then fine. The team and drivers know when the updates be ready for said race. And they know when to attack a race to win and when to try to win or settle for podium to collect points.
Forza Ferrari.
My point is, aero wise, the RB8 is worse than F2012 and suddenly for now particular reason they beat the best aero package (MP4-27) in the field..:-!:-!:-!
@rob I am not criticizing the F2012, au contraire!
I don't think this car will challenge for pole position in the remaining 7 races but our race pace is better than qualifying. So, Fernando needs to finish on the podium and with little help from in-fighting between teammates in RedBull and Mclaren maybe we can clinch the title otherwise it looks tough now but still hope for the best.
I keep supporting my team to whatever ends.I've seen much more worse situation than this but we fans are sometimes hasty. It's normal because everyone is waiting for the title. We really missed to win again.I was in 21 when we last had a title. There is nothing to do except waiting
No sorry my bad misinterpreted first post.
I hope to see some fair racing this week end and not some RB get away... again
Forza Ferrari
To be fair to others, the team wasn't exactly upbeat either in their comments yesterday. Massa mentioned about bad tire degradation and the problem doesn't appears to be fully explainable. And Pat Fry he's a honest man with the media. If something isn't going well, he admits it and he did said some updates were working while others wasn't.
So its understandable that some fans are concerned that this will be another damaged limitation weekend, and its also understandable why many feels its hard to swallow that we keep having weekends like this. Its a tough sport.
Point is, we can't force everyone to be optimistic.
Well, Ferrari and Fernando in particular have managed to bring home great points at other circuits which haven't suited our car, so I am actually optimistic for the race. But, what made me concerned yesterday was how the car looked to behave on the track with the new updates. Even if we had pace equal to the Mclaren and Red Bull, that car behavoir isn't something you'd wish your drivers to wrestle with over a race distance. With the old rear wing we looked better balanced, so not all is lost for the weekend.
Since Silverstone we've been testing components that haven't made it to race day. We knew we had issues correlating between track and factory, but with all the data collection we've been doing, and with Ferrari announcing big updates for Singapore, I really committed myself to believing the issues were resolved. For the car to behave like it did today, and for Ferrari themselves to concede that not everything is going to plan is quite a blow, both for this championship and for the future. Afterall, next years car will already be a long way into development, and it's being designed with the same technologies.
I really hope to see Ferrari run with the new components today. Perhaps last night they saw something in the data/setup. Fingers crossed!
I don't follow any other team very closely but have they all brought updates that just work all the time? or do they find like we do that they are not working?
Is non working updates exclusive to Ferrari?
Chill out you guys! happens all the time. And then the good days will come again. Remember the '80s and '90s and then the dominating years came and we forgot this terrible 20 years. Now the only horrible year was '09 and a little last year. So what is all that fuss about? We WILL WIN again and in a short time!!
Maybe we should actually wait until tomorrow evening before we start moaning about the team/car.
Anything can happen tomorrow - you never know when an unexpected win is around the corner, particularly at a track when there's normally high attrition.

That's what disturbed me.
For us to respect the team they have to be straight with us, and they are. So now we're all 'nervous', to put it mildly.
Well , on to P3 and we shall see what we shall see. Good luck all:-)
