BREAKING: Michael Schumacher retained consciousness and his injuries are 'not very serious', RMC radio reports.

Just heard this news, damn. Please get better Schuey :-(

My prayers are with him.

The latest from RMC Sport comes from Christophe Gernignon-Lecomte.

He's the director of Meribel and has just told them that the injury is "not very serious," which sounds like good news.

"He crashed at 11:07, off-piste, in Meribel.

"He was wearing a helmet and crashed into a rock.

"The emergency services reacted quickly, at 11:15... He was heli-lifted to Moûtier hospital."

"He was shocked, a little worried, but conscious.

"It could possibly be a cranial injury but it is not very serious."

Good news, and an eight-minute reaction time is very important.

Seeing the headline was one of the worst moments of my life.

Fortunately it seems like it's been blown out of proportion and sensationalised by the media but let's wait for more information so we know the full extent of it.

Phew... when I first read the title of this thread I was starting to get really worried, but now that I've read the reports saying that he's concious it's such a relief. I really-really hope that it's nothing too serious and he'll be just fine. Come on Schumi, pull through and get well! I know what a fighter you are. And for your family's and fan's sake please stop with these risky sports!

It's a long winter, OK, but a thread for it, isn't it a bit ridiculous?

Are you being purposely obtuse?

The initial reports about Michael were that he had a serious head injury - why wouldn't I be upset about that; the man is one of my heroes.

And yes, despite the fact it happened in a luxurious resort, it would be tragic if he'd been badly injured and I would feel bad. It's called empathy.

Rightly said, Suzie, we should all share in wishing him well, we love and respect our drivers past and present and it's only human to feel that empathy.

He came to Ferrari a 2 times WDC and helped to make the team Great once again and back to its winning ways.

Site of Finnish newspaper says, that Shumis injuries are worse than thought and he has been moved to other hospital.

Hopefully that`s not the case and he gets well soon.

He moved hospital hours ago, as the one he went too first was not really good for head injuries. Nothing really unusual or worrying about that.

I really don't like all these rumours, it's hard not to read them and worry :-s

I'm sure he's in good hands in the Grenoble hospital and wish Michael well.

I guess we all feel for his wife and children too. Get well soon Michael.

Really hope it's exaggeration because there are some media reporting he has cerebral hemorrhage and has been put in a coma.

I do hope that Michael gets better, a head injury is never something to take lightly.

As for certain comments that were made here, just shame on the person that made them.

Everything does seem to be saying the same thing now - cerebral haemorrhage. Still want official word though, there's so much rubbish floating around.

I read on a Dutch sport app that the management of Schumacher will come with a statement this evening so we just have to wait. Come on Michael!

Management confirms that Michael is in critical condition, in a coma and requiring immediate surgery. This is horrible, tell me this isn't happening. Come on Michael, pull through.

This is not good. When I first heard the news it sounded like banging your head and have a headache for a few days, but this is very serious.....although I never have been a Schumacher fan at all, this is something you don't want to see happening to anyone. He is a husband and a father and now after all these years he finally had time to spend with them....
I wish Michael and his family all the best and I hope they will get their loved one back in good health very soon.:pray

As of now really, be same news. As Schumi maybe/should be being operated on.

Be press conference tomorrow at 11am CET on Schumis condition.

This is a real nightmare. Right now all I'm praying for is that when I wake up tomorrow then there will be some good news about Schumi's health. :pray
