There is no definative time as the gear ratios, engine rev limit, tyres and to a lesser extent the aero config will change it.
Also, its not the sort of information released by the teams, as they'd prefer other teams knew as little as possible about their cars and also due to the fact that in F1 circles 0-60mph isnt important (they would more likely use 0-100kph or look at time to cover a certain distance).

But anyhoo, you're going to have to explain these random outbursts or I'm sending the men in white coats for you.

it is about 2,6 sec. It takes a F1 car 9 sec to complete 400 metresOriginally posted by Yazgaça

0-100 kph is virtually 0-60 mph![]()
Dzrka is right, with the V10's the 0-60s were generally in the 2.4-2.6 seconds, 0-100 mph in 3.5-4.0 seconds, 1/4 mile always gets quoted around 9 seconds at around 180 mph. Of course it depends on car, gearing, and downforce package. Also that 1/4 mile in 9.0@180 has been given since around 1999/2000, and the 2004/2005 cars should have been significantly faster, due to the better aero, traction control, more downforce, and of course the extra 100-150 horsepower.
Even though the 248F1 has less torque/power in the V8, its for sure a lot easier to hook up and get traction than the V10's, so I suspect the 0-60 would be around 2.5 seconds also, 0-100 being a little bit slower, and the 1/4 mile being significantly slower. If we guessed an F2004 could do the 1/4 in say 8.5@~190, then perhaps the 248F1 could get around 9.2@179

It's probably in the 2.4-2.6s region. The issue is grip more than power and torque at those speeds off the line. So many factors go into the time that it's not so simple like a road car.

Bugatti would get destroyed on the straights too.
Come on now, remember that the Veyron's tires can only sustain 253mph for 15 minutes and can only run at 253mph for 12 because of the amount of fuel used. F1 car beats it by miles with 10 less cylinders and 300 less horsepower. So maybe on a 2-3 lap race, the veyron may be able to catch up on the straights but because it's tires and fuel is gone so quick, the F1 car would probably lap it.Originally Posted by ste15101989

Does the Veyron have the same continued acceleration like an F1? According to the BMW website, the 60-120 time is pretty much identical to the 0-60 time. Also, don't forget that a lot of the lap time comes from the ability to break hard and carry a lot of speed through corners. It's just no contest when you take a whole lap with corners and everything. The F1 is so much faster.
"Tradition" is dead. Long live the Senators!
The Veyron can 0-60 in 2.8 or less quite easily due to AWD and 1000+ hp. F1 car is limited to traction, but after 60, cya later Veyron. I mean its not even remotely close. The F1 car DESTROYS the Veyron in acceleration. Seriously the cars that can pull as hard as an F1 car after 60 mph or so are like top sportsman type drag racers. While they get to 180 mph in about 7.5 seconds due to traction and torque, the mid range of an F1 car pulls probably simular to a late 90's Pro Stocker.Originally Posted by ste15101989
