    Thumbs down Ferrari F60 Faults

So its been 2 races and the F60 has finished with a high of 9th place.... Not exactly a fantastic start!!!!
The simple yet biggest flaw of all is the cars flow, none of it works together.
If you take the front wing - it looks so outdated its not funny compared to Brawn GP001's front wing which looks like something NASA designed.
The nose section of the car looks too high. The wind deflectors for air going around the suspention assembly are placed too far forward and deflecting wind away from.... well nothing!
The mirror part.... Ferrari what were you thinking? Its awful big mirrors out no where wind gushing into them at all times going around a circuit. Also, on the mirrors are placed so far out the floor is further out which couldnt be helping matter.
The Side pods look like a disaster. Everyones else's designs start just before the side pod much more aero dynamic looking anyway but the F60's just golt out and are also a little too square - compunded that there little blocked by the HUGH mirrors in the way!
To me, BMW's and Ferrari's rear wings look too big in height that is maybe its my eyes i dont know. The f60's are not too well designed either. Everyone elses are curved at the back yet ferrari's are not.... just square all over!
Ferrari F60 does not work together, it doesnt flow together. In order to get air around the car, the car must flow when sitting still the line have to work together.... Its like 4 different people designed sections of the car and slapped them together.
Im a die hard Ferrari fan, always have been & I hope you guys solve the problems & fast.

    Welcome to the forums mariomtti!

Aero performance is not just down to looks, although our car is indeed lacking in downforce, the looks of it have very little to do with it IMHO!!

    Thanks for the welcome!
Didnt mean look i meant that none of the car works together....
Nose section is too high, side pods dont look aerodynamic, rear wing looks too high thats what i mean with looks! Car doesnt look right!

I dont think the nose is too high. Remember when the high nose was in vogue back in the late 90s and 2000? Now days they can't channel air to the diffuser with all sorts of aero bits, so a high nose can take a big gulp of air towards it. Many teams went with a much higher nose than last year, like Toyota and RBR.

I do agree with the sidepods. At the launch the car had compact sidepods, that unfortunately exposed the exhaust which is illegal. The car later "updated" with much bulkier and goes away from the coke-bottle philosophy. I think this is not only due to form with exhaust regulations, but to provide better cooling for the KERS. This perhaps doesn't have an enormous difference on downforce, but I would assume the aero drag for the cars body is quite high.

I think the lack of a double decker diffuser not only means a lack of downforce, but perhaps more importantly poor aero balance between the front and rear.

I think the car has major problems with mechanical balance. A lot having to do with weight distribution because of KERS. But also i think the suspension that has been designed to be easy on tires since 2005, makes it very difficult to get heat in the tires. Getting the tires in their optimal range is huge, and it has been an issue for a couple years now.

Looks and aerodynamics usually have very little to do with performance. The deciding factor is the track and wind tunnel.

I remember last year when some in this forum and others were indicating the Mclaren was introducing all these wild and technically advanced aero pieces while Ferrari looked to be standing still. Yet with the exception of a few races last year, Ferrari was much faster and better handling than the Mclaren and others.
