A day on track for Alonso at Fiorano

    6.18.2010

Maranello, 18 June, Fernando Alonso left Maranello late this afternoon after a day and a half of Formula 1 work as well as filming and promotional activity.

Yesterday afternoon, the Spaniard tackled the simulator, preparing for the European Grand Prix with his engineers. Today's schedule included taking part in on-track activity with a group of Ferrari owners, who got to drive around the Fiorano track with the added bonus of doing so with a special "teacher" who just happens to be a double Formula 1 world champion.

At the same time, Fernando also did a few laps of the track at the wheel of the F10 for promotional purposes, filming not only for partners of the Reds but also for some novel features which will soon enliven the new section on the Ferrari website, dedicated to Formula 1.

Even though he only completed very few kilometres, further limited by the demands of the film script, it was nevertheless Fernando's debut at the Fiorano circuit at the wheel of a Ferrari Formula 1 car: you have to make the most of any opportunity in this era of the testing ban!

It looks like the exhaust has moved. To where, I don't know, but it's not where it used to be.

I believe you are right. Sneaky, and legal way, to get a little testing in.

Yup, the exhausts have definitely been moved. I hope we gain enough downforce to be at par or a lil better than the bulls n mccheats.

looks as if they have moved them further down near the rear suspension. That is very sneaky way of running it too see how it works. GREAT STUFF!!! Forza Ferrari

thanks for pics. The side pods looks as if they have more of a drop off towards the rear aswell. Which im not surprised, as it all adds the exhaust outlets and DD.

Its wierd because in the video it looks like the F10 rear wing, but in the stills it looks like the F2008.

IMO it is just the angle of the shot. To me it looks the same.

It's definitely the 2010 rear wing, not the F2008. Notice the shark fin engine cover leading all the way to the rear wing, for the F-duct? The 2008 rear wing would come much lower.

The bottom part of the F2008 rear wing would have been higher. Someone said that the rear wing is different and there are some parts removed above the wheels. It is giving an optical illusuin of the rear wing being wider and looking less boxier. Does that make sense? I've got an excuse. I've had alcohol.

Nice stuff, also the inlet holes for the f-duct don't appear to be on the side of the shark fin, looks like they moved them to another part of the car to improve air-flow? (on a second look I think they are still there just very hard to see or they are slightly different) Can't wait to see more detailed pictures.

picture to blurred to see the intake for the "f-duct" roll on next weekend. See that baby properly.

then again, they may not of been running "f-duct" fully. May of just been to see how the DD and exhaust working. Forza Ferrari.

I am so excited for Valencia! So from those blurry pictures, what can we tell so far? New front wing, obviously the new exhaust system, possibly a new diffuser and some general modifications in the rear end of the car, new side pods possibly, may be a new rear wing? Can't wait for Valencia Friday Practice!

It's hard to tell, but the front of the sidepods look a bit different also. There also seems to be a new piece below the "sharkfin".

    Thanks for the pics vcs316!!

yeah, they do look bit different near the front. Where the underneath of the "shark fin" curves round towards the rear wing, that defiantly looks higher and goes further down towards either, DD or the rear wing central pillars.

May have to book next friday off, to watch FFP live, dont know if can hold out all day till get home and watch replay
