European GP 2010 Official Race Thread

I don't understand how if Alonso was in P3 and was the first behind the safetycar, how he ended up as far back as he did. I'm not saying he should be leading, I don't see how all these other cars are in front of him. Did they not pit? What am I not getting?

Do you support the poms first or ferrari? make up your mind i know who i support first and yes i am of english decent but what happened today is clearly just not correct or are you happy?Or are you just going top say you are not happy

I know LH cheats but I don't think we should use that as an excuse when it comes to the championship.
Ferrari haven't had a single pole so far, we just haven't been fast enough.

Ferrari haven't had a single pole so far, we just haven't been fast enough.

That dosent mean we dont deserve a win. We are far stronger and faster in the full race distance. Today Alonso would have been on the podium, Massa as well. We would have been giving pressure to Vettel as we speak. We are fast!

Other cars got in the pits in front since Hamilton and and Vettel were so far ahead. Shame on the FIA, such nonsense. Good morning Red btw.....

Not true. Alonso fought from the back in Malaysia before his Engine failed - could have won there.

Could have won in Melbourne, but had contact at the first corner, hit to the back. Fought to 4th before being held up by Massa.

Would certainly have won in Montreal had it not been for Buemi, the HRT and a lotus holding him up and costing him a lot of time.

Would have been on for 2nd or a victory today, our pace was excellent before the SC. Nothing we could do about pitting when we did.

For everyone who does not understand the situation:

When Webber flipped and crashed, the Safety Car was deployed, creating an opportunity for everyone to pit.

Unfortunately for the top 4 (or 5?) runners, they missed the pits by the time the Safety Car was deployed and subsequently, were forced to pit the following lap.

This meant that the top 4 (or 5) cars now had to do their pitstop and get out infront before the Safety Car reached them (so that they could stay infront), allowing them to do another full lap before being held up by the Safety Car

Vettel got out in time, but Hamilton passed the safety car (thus, breaking the rules)

We got stuck behind the Safety Car.....Is this explination clear? Am I missing something or did I get a piece of information wrong? If so, please correct me!
