Hamilton has a huge accident and the car is in pieces. Three corners of damage on that McLaren, he is very unhappy but unscathed.

He put the power down exiting the right-hander and the rear snapped sideways...

As long as he's ok, it's fine to...

Ted reckons they might have to put the old exhaust on again.

Looks like the McLaren mechanics are going to have to keep chiselling away at the car

    Hamilton radio:

"I'm in the wall, cars damaged...heavily"

    "Understood Lewis, are you ok?

    "Yes"

I was just thinking how funny it would have been to be onboard with Alonso with him waving as he goes past.

    Priceless

He clipped the kerb on the apex of turn three, the car switched ends on him, got on the grass and he had no grip to stop himself hitting the barrier. There is a lot of rear end damage and both left wheels are hanging off.

Massa spins for the 4th time. That must be 5 incidents or so at least. Not good at all. Hope he can get to grips with the lack of heat in the tyres, he doesn't need another bad weekend.

Would be interesting to hear Rob on the newly opened to public team radio.

Laughing at an opponent crashing makes bad karma.

The fun in that is more what the german commentator said: 'just after we praised him highly for his 'rain abilities'...yeah Murphy is always busy taking notes.

1007: It's been a tricky morning for McLaren, and it's just got a lot worse. Hamilton loses the back end coming out of Turn Three, he catches it, but the car then snaps back and he ventures across the grass and into the tyre wall. There's lot of damage to the back of that McLaren. It's going to be a busy time in the garage as the team try to rebuild it. As a hacked-off Hamilton sits in his car after that crash he says: "The car's in the wall, and is damaged. Heavily." Says it all really. In other news, Sutil improves to a 1:27.846.

I don't know how Felipe does it!

Loads of spins, followed by a lap to put him P3. Very weird! Looks like he nearly lost it on his quick lap as well.

McLaren confirm that they do have a spare blown diffuser floor, so Hamilton's car can be repaired as it was.

At least it looks like his pushing.

B.Senna spins into the gravel, lucky not to back it into the wall

BBC F1 analyst Anthony Davidson on Felipe Massa: "He actually started the year like he left off last season - out-qualifying Fernando Alonso in Bahrain and driving a pretty strong race. But ever since he's lost a bit of confidence and Alonso has that ability, to wear you down as a team-mate. It can be an emotional rollercoaster alongside Alonso and it looks like Felipe is struggling with it."

Bruno Senna was on an improving lap in the HRT, but has lost the car at the final corner and is beached.
Senna is down in 19th position and is advised to switch off the engine by his race engineer.
Senna duly reacts and climbs out of the Hispania Racing entry and the marshals have another customer.
