BBC F1 analyst Anthony Davidson on Lewis Hamilton: "You definitely put yourself on the back foot when you miss track time - mostly because it makes it very difficult for the team to gather all the information split between two cars when one runs a lot longer than the other. That crash will also be a bit of a hit to his confidence around this track, too. This last few minutes is all about Lewis getting up to speed and rhythm as quickly as possible now - it's not easy, but if anyone can do it, Lewis can."

Alonso and Massa superb performance! We know we have the car to qual for pole position and win races. Everything is good until tomorrow in Q3 when RB's are "pulling some magic tricks" out their butts! They always do...but I still think that right now we have the best ,legal car.

still remembering Monaco, i'd say it's too early to cheer. i can be patient until sunday's race is done and all penalties have been given out. that's when i start to cheer, if there is a reason for it

Good practice sessions today, we've certainly got the speed, although I'm afraid RBR might blitz all the times again when the Q3 comes. I hope we have something up our sleeve too though!

....maybe we do have something UP OUR SLEEVE, who knows, as to what Alonso is saying in the post practice 2 quotes: "“We have seen before on Fridays that we are very competitive and then on Saturday, the Red Bulls are clearly quicker, so we have to take this result with a pinch of salt: in order to be in front tomorrow, we will have to do something out of the ordinary".

Red Bull duo wary of Ferrari's form

By Jonathan Noble and Pablo Elizalde Friday, July 23rd 2010, 14:09 GMT

Sebastian Vettel, Red Bull, German GPRed Bull drivers Mark Webber and Sebastian Vettel believe Ferrari is set for a very strong German Grand Prix this weekend.

Ferrari's Fernando Alonso set the pace in the second practice session on Friday, outpacing Vettel by less than 0.030.

Alonso's team-mate Felipe Massa completed a positive day for the Italian squad after setting the third fastest time.

"Ferrari looks extremely competitive and I think McLaren probably had a difficult day today with only one car for the majority of the training so we will see tomorrow," said Vettel after managing 26 laps in the afternoon session.

Webber was fourth quickest and the Australian also reckons Ferrari is competitive.

"The car felt pretty good. We have some work to do tonight. Ferrari look strong, so we have some competition this weekend and are looking forward to the race," said Webber.

Vettel admitted, however, that the changing weather conditions made it hard to judge the times from today's sessions.

"It was slippery today obviously," he said. "The conditions were changing all the time, so to really judge the lap times is quite difficult because you have to see when everyone was out on the circuit and in which conditions. But it was important to get some dry running in the afternoon I think and it looked quite promising.

"The car feels nice, especially in the last section, so all in all it is a good day. Ferrari looked very quick and McLaren had a difficult day in the office, with only one car for a majority of the running, but I am sure they will be back up there tomorrow. It is tight."

Fantastic day for Felipe Massa. It looks to be a great weekend for him, as when he has a great Friday he usually does very well in Qualifying and the Race.

    Massa all the way

I'm curious to see if we finally caught up with the Red Bulls in terms of qualifying speed. Race pace we're the best.

Was a good day yesterday. Was watching the whole session and on one onboard of felipes car, i realised how much our car seems to be easier to drive than the merc. Felipes steering inputs were calm and controlled while not sure MS or rosberg, was having to make a lot of adjustments to keep the car on the curves. Loved it.
We do have the speed, but i feel the bulls might have some more in reserve. Nando is right, we will need to be extraordinary to snatch pole from them.. but its possible i guess. And our car seems to be steadily improving. Am so happy.
Am so so hoping for a nice clean fair quali and race.
