Team-mate Nico Rosberg thinks another factor contributed to the 2010 anomaly for Mercedes GP.

"We mustn't forget that Mercedes developed this car with about 400 people, while Ferrari, Red Bull Racing and McLaren still have 800 or more."

"But over the winter, these teams have to follow suit because of the agreed personnel cap. So that's an advantage for us," Rosberg said in an interview with Frankfurter Rundschau.
Are Ferrari laying off staff at the end of the season? or more to the point as these staff can be absorbed into the road car division, will Ferrari have less people working on the F1 cars?

Looks like most F1 teams will be laying off people...These decisions were taken in 2009 when the economic climate was bad...this could now have a rethink...Brawn Merc worked with 420 people +- 20 last year, so its easier for them to adapt...

this makes it really hard for new aspirants to get into F1 on the engineering side
