True, which was great to see for me...but LH is still in it with a chance..a slim 1 at best, so he will be going for it.
Dont forget, thats mac we're talking about...and they will be strong on that track.

Alonso said he is 100% positive he will win the title.

He hasn't been wrong so far, so if he's confident, i'm confident.

i dont think we can rely on the bulls for any assistance.
Vettel does not stike me as a hard case. He will lead webber throught the whole race and then swap on the last corner if he cannot win it.
Alonso has to get in there and take 2nd no matter what.

Ferrari could get Massa really light with no intention of finishing the race and get in front of the bulls and hold them back allowing Alonso to attack since at this point there is no more WCC.

I just raced around the Abu Dhabi track on the F1 2010 game and imo i think:
First sector we will be quicker or around the same pace as the red fools

Second sector i think we will be quicker

Thrid sector i think the red fools will be quite a bit quicker.

Exactly so. Alonso should be 4th at least if VETTEL wins...

No way. Vettel will push for fastest lap last lap to add to his statistics. Vettel is probably the best number 2 driver Alonso had in his career. Without him Alonso would not have the great chance that he has now to win the title. Awesome work the last half of the season(including team) and many races he has performed better than expected. That is the hallmark of a real champ.

im so nervous for this sunday.....teamates would play a major role to decide who wins the WDC....and I believe in Felipe and alonso..they are the best teamates on the grid......im sure Felipe will remember those days when kimi helped him..and im sure one day they will be a day when Felipe gets help from his teamate.....really hope hamilton doesnt spoil the action or even any last laps incident that would favor the redbulls....indeed redBull have been the best team out there this season with all the poles but if there is one driver who deserves the win, that would be alonso.......and maybe next year would be felipe's, who knows? looking forward to a perfect weekend... may we win the 2010 WDC :

Let's compare onboard video of Abu Dhabi, Hungary (the track where RB was at it's strongests), and Hockenheim where we were dead even with the RB, if not better.

    Abu Dhabi

    Hungary

    Germany

It's pretty obvious to me that in Abu Dhabi we will be strong. Hockenhem, where we beat them, had higher speed, higher downforce corners. In Abu Dhabi I counted two corners that might suit them better. The rest of the track is just slow corners and long straights. And let's not forget that RB6 has suffered all year long with overheating brakes, and Abu Dhabi has a lot of heavy braking. There's no reason why Fernando shouldn't win this, or come 2nd behind Hamilton. The Red Bulls will be a non-factor here.

AD is a copy of Singapore. There are mostly slow turns just like in Singapore but this one has longer straights so it can suit us even better. Well I hope so.

entirely agree with Brakefade there, apart from saying the bulls will be a non factor.
the track will suit us all right, but they have been too strong to dismiss for the win....

For those f1 gurus amongst us...
Didnt Hamilton beat the bulls here last year to pole? doesnt that mean that this would not be a circuit strong for the bulls?

Just think those 7 points at hockenheim may just prove to be deciding factor

Excellant point I wouldn't write off Red Bulls chances completely but I reckon Alonso can sneak a pole position here and a victory.. The only thing is if Alonso was on pole with Vettel second would there be a chance of vettel pullin off a trademark overtake into turn 1 and deliberatly take Alonso out of the race and leave the race to Webber..

Doubt it! I reckon Vettel deep down would rather open the door to Alonso than let his team mate win it

I think we will be very competitive in AD, perhaps even, for a rare time, have an edge. And I think it's braking that will push AD firmly into our court.

If I defined heavy braking as braking and downshifting to gear 3 (or lower) then I reckon the last four races have the following:-
    Brazil 6
    Korea 9/10
    Japan 4
    Singapore 12
    Interesting....

I reckon AD is at least 12. What's more, I think there are only 4 times where you get to accelerate for at least 500 meters. Add to this the constant and very high ambient temperature and I think we have a significant factor in our favour. And, it is a known weakness of RB. Of course we have to take advantage of it, but we have the team and drivers to do that.

You never know what Hamiton can do, he might be the fastest on Saturday but I doubt he can keep P1 for the whole race and then he might be a problem for Alonso more than anything else. Maybe it would be better for us to have a fight with only Webber and Vettel.

Don't forget we got Felipe to deal with Ham if necessary..........I think Felipe will be strong in AD- its hot and he likes heat in his tyres!

under no circumstances can alonso have anyone come in between him and the bulls if they are ahead. otherwise if Alonso is ahead I hope Hamilton gets in the middle as an additional buffer

Not too sure on that. There have been plenty of rumours goin around the last few weeks about what engines will be used.. I m guessing only Ferrari know the real story. Surely their engineers have it all under control.

Guys, you constantly mention Singapore. You seam to forget that if it was not the SV mistake in Q3, Alonso would be in P2 (at best). So, I am not very confident about P1 in Q3 and race. Still, I believe that with a situation like RB 1-2 and FA 3rd in Q3, FA is possible to sneak between the 2 RBs and grab the title, IF and only IF he has any good engines left (that I doubt...). AD is a place with very dust, very high ambient temperatures and do not forget that the race starts with daylight and ends under lights. So, the track temperature will change... Last year RB were strong....

Abu Dhabi is most taxing on engines and brakes and should suit our car, but also the RBRs. Also, it's much better for McLarens than for instance Brazil so prepare for a very exciting qualifying.
