I'm taking some of Alonso's optimism ahead of this weekend and feeling pretty confident.
Mark Hughes is clearly on the anti-Ferrari bandwagon though so I won't be listening to him!
Mateschitz - bad guys usually have more fun
i'd like to see how they're going to play that thing out then

With the constructors' title now in the bag, Red Bull will turn its attention to securing the drivers' crown next weekend in Abu Dhabi.

"We will be considering how to approach Abu Dhabi, both technically and tactically," admitted motorsport consultant Dr Helmut Marko on German RTL television after the Brazilian Grand Prix.
"Right now we will celebrate and then all of our efforts will be aimed at winning the drivers' title in Abu Dhabi," he added.
And if Vettel and Webber are reluctant to play ball?
"Then we will remind our drivers of the fact that they are team players," the Austrian is quoted by Auto Motor und Sport.

Mateschitz: 'We don't manipulate things like Ferrari'
---
So they'll do it if they need to, no doubt about it. It would be stupid not to do it but the hipocrisy of the energetic drink team, Red Bull, is unbearable. I propose a new name for the team: Red Bullsh##.
Webber seems to think differently....
That guy probably knows a lot about marketing, hell, he's making a shitload of money from selling water with some sugar and caffeine added to it, but when it comes to making RBR look good, he still have a long way to learn.
If they don't do team orders and they fail to win the WDC a lot of people will blame them, and if they win it by using team orders, a lot of people will blame them for not doing what they said from the beggining (team orders forbbiden - we're not gonna apply them...).
I think what Mateschitz is saying is that they want Vettel to win the WDC and to hell with Webber. Webber might see it the same way. We could have a desperate man in Webber this weekend knowing he has to earn it on his own and can expect no help whatsoever from the team.
Don't play dumb with me. I'm better at it than you are.
I wonder what he would be saying if Vettel and Webber had swapped ponits in the WDC battle.

from Massa blocking the field in Korea to Hammy being best-placed to challenge in Abu Dhabhi, Mr. Hughes has completely lost his nuts now...![]()
No, no, i meant if Vettel was 8 points behind Alonso, and Webber 15 going into the last race.

I hope Alonso gets pole and cruise to the win in Abu Dhabi.
just remembered now, mclaren pitted jenson a lap earlier than normal so that lewis would come out ahead.
wheres their $100,000 fine?

Why do I get a feelin that the race will end with Webber makin a dodgy move on Alonso at the start and taking eachother out of it and Vettel goin on to win the WDC.. Jasus I hope i m wrong..
Its very clear that Redbull is not a dumb team. They have been around to see how it works. They have shown preference towards Vettel when he was ahead of Mark. By Making Seb and Web race, REDBULL RACING JUST MADE SURE THAT they have both drivers in the fight and with a good chance.
All this hooplah in the media is to show off that they are equal. Eventually, these are the things that will happen :
If Webber is going to win with Seb's help, They will make him Move over.
They just wanted to win the Constructor's 1st and now with that set, They will now see How to win the Driver's title.
Its in their court completely, Unless We come up with a good car.![]()

Mateschitz against Red Bull team orders http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/88087
By Gerhard Kuntschik and Pablo Elizalde Tuesday, November 9th 2010, 10:10 GMT
Red Bull boss Dietrich Mateschitz says he would prefer any of his drivers to finish in second place in the championship before imposing team orders.
The team has refused to throw its weight behind Mark Webber this season, despite the Australian having been in a stronger position than team-mate Sebastian Vettel in the latter part of the season.
Vettel won the Brazilian Grand Prix on Sunday, finishing ahead of Webber and championship leader Fernando Alonso.
The result meant Alonso will clinch the title in the season finale in Abu Dhabi by finishing in second if Vettel wins.
Despite the team's position benefiting Alonso, Mateschitz says imposing team orders was never a possibility, and he claims he would prefer his drivers to lose out "under the correct circumstances".
"To interfere with the drivers was never a possibility for us," said Mateschitz. "The whole world condemned Ferrari after what they did in Hockenheim, but we have turned out as idiots because we did not act in this way.
"We never even thought about it as long as both our drivers remain in the hunt for the championship.
"It is not assured that Alonso will always be the lucky one. Abu Dhabi will be incredibly exciting and provide highest tension.
"Sunday night we will know if we clinched the other 50 percent and have been successful or not. A second place under correct circumstances might be better than a win on grounds of orders and confirmations."
Mateschitz admitted that clinching the constructors' championship was an enormous satisfaction, but he is still hopeful of achieving the other "50 per cent" of their goals.
"There was so much at stake. You never know what happens," he added. "And anything can happen until the end as we learnt just recently. It is a wonderful, sensational feeling to have won the constructors' title. We consequently worked on this for five years now and we are all glad it happened.
"This championship means satisfaction and joy for us. We missed out by a whisper last year, now it worked. But we have only achieved 50 percent of our goal. The other 50 percent hopefully will emerge next Sunday".
CAVALLINO RAMPANTE PER SEMPRE
well it looks as if Fernando WILL be champion thisSunday, i really cannt see thet team or Dietrich going back on his words of no teamorders. Plus, as has said in this thread by Stu, i think, Red Bull is marketing. This wouldnt look great for the "brand" if they did now turn round and in forcew team orders.

CAVALLINO RAMPANTE PER SEMPRE
Fernando just needs to make sure he is at the right place, this is all in their hands now, and it's very likely that they will screw it up. Let's face it, what are the chances that Webber will ever find himself in this position again? to win the championship, even if that is going to cost him his drive at redbull, he will go for all or nothing, he knows this is the chance of his lifetime, while fernando has all the ferrari behind him, clearly mark doesn't, the sane thing would be for them to have team strategy if vettel can't win the championship and mark can.
I tell you, if they were in different positions, webber in third and vettel in second, i bet that redbull would tell Mark to move aside, it was never their intention to have mark win the championship. I am fernando to win it, cause i think he's done the best job considering that the F10 was no match for the redbulls, but i gotta admit that, if webber wins it, it would be equally hard, seeing that redbull has been trying to make vettel come first before mark all season long.
PS i do think that they are pretending, and they might already have it agreed, that if comes the last laps, if alonso is third and vettel first, vettel will simply let webber overtake him, but make it look like there was some resistance, and probably won't send any message through radio. in my opnion that's what they are going to do, team orders just as ferrari used, but what's important is what you sell the public and the media, redbull will try to sell the idea that there wasn't team orders.
The art isn't in never falling but in always getting up.
I'm not so sure we haven't already seen something like this. Were the Toro Rosso's trying to impede Alonso or even crash him on the safetycar restart at Brazil? Did Beumi think he was running over Alonso when he got Massa? I wouldn't put it past them and I've heard some others ask the same thing.
This is a pot we tifosi need to stir. Red Bull is trying to throw dirt on Ferrari and Alonso if they win the WDC, we should throw a little back their way. They can be angry about team orders if they like, but team orders are just smart racing. Using a backmarker to take out a rival is outright dirty rotten cheating. We saw how sporting Ferrari were about this when Massa let Vettel and Webber by easily.
Don't play dumb with me. I'm better at it than you are.
That's the difference between the 2 teams, ferrari does it in a smart good sportsmanship manner, when felipe helped kimi, when kimi helped felipe, and with felipe and fernando this season, that's what i like about domenicalli, he's pretty honest, and i'm sure that's the reason why we have ONE team racing and redbull has 2 under the same roof or i should say 3 if we count scuderia toro rosso.

Was Alguasarriieeieieiee not slagging Alonso off recently? seemed like he knew fine well what he was doing.
Forza Ferrari
Possible RB tactics: let Vettel go for pole (he is the fastest of the two) and let Webber hopefully for them be second. Alonso will probably qualify third then, if Hamilton does not interfere.
Then at the start Vettel will let Webber catch him and hold up the rest of the field , including Alonso of course. This will make Webber champion.
If then sometime during the race Alonso might get in trouble (crash, enginefailure or whatever) , Vettel will push Webber again till he makes a mistake. This could make Vettel again the champion if Webber loses more than one place.
So, if Alonso wants to have a chance, either he or Massa MUST be between or in front of the RB's all the time.
The uncertain factor in the story is Lewis Hamilton. He already said that he is going for the win and will give no presents or room to anyone........
What gets me is all of the trash talking. especially by RB and Mac about team orders.....where was that..Monza? Im not sure..but its the race where Vettel mysteriously had a problem..for 12 seconds, and Webhead went by..funny..the problem went away?? Wasnt that amazing? They all do team orders, its just that some want to appear like goody 2 shoes..n they aint..so they can stuff their trash talk....they didnt fool the Speed announcers..n they didnt fool me...
I have no idea what these guys are going to do Sunday, but if Web decided to leave the team, he aint listening, moving over, or anything else..for anyone..I dont expect Vettel to do anyone favors, n u could see from the post race, he's afraid of
Alonso....as long as they dont start crashing people out..
And I have to also say (windbag) that the RB's ARE the fastest cars out there..FA was losing .5 seconds to 1 per lap when he got in clean air....I dont know how he was managing his car or tires, but lose the time he did..so to
overcome such fast cars, well, its going to be a doozy Sunday...
As for Toro...no engines for you..
it's funny, we have 1 more race to go and both here and on red bull boards it's all the same talk. if the other team wins, they don't deserve it.
red bull likes to cry about germany and team orders, but they only gave mark's wing to seb. all i can do is ask..whats the difference?
from wild speculations to cold hard facts, in the end whoever wins this year title will deserve it.
if Webber wins the title, hats off to him. he will have won that crown fighting both his team and another (Ferrari)
if Alonso wins, germany wont mean a thing, he will have won that title thanks to both his team who took a huge risk and more than that, SKILLS!
red bull this year, jut face it...they had the superior car!
ferrari had alonso, the superior driver.
Mclaren came close, but they got what they deserved..bad karma.
it's up to the drivers now to win or lose, mark, seb or Alonso. the title will always have this "what if" slapped on it.
lets not play holy like Mclaren do, it's been a great season with some nasty tricks and great fights.
the driver that wins this years title will deserve it, too bad that Massa couldn't be in the mix.
he really deserves his 2nd change
Life might be hard, Concrete is a lot harder
