Luca giving Lewis the Thumbs Up

Did anyone else notice Luca giving Lewis the Thumbs up as he was driving out of his garage during qualifying. To date haven't seen anyone else do that. Was he encouraging Lewis to challenge the bulls (even though Lewis was charging anyway) or just wishing good luck?

Ferrari Pit wall always seems to be outside Mclaren garages, anyone know why? If I'm not wrong, which ever teams turns up to the venue first decides which garage they'll use?

Also, when drivers come into the pits after their run, they stop outside their garage for a few seconds and then jet off and stop before their mechanics push the car into the garage. What is the purpose of this stop and go for a few seconds?

The garages are decided on last years WCC, so mercedes will have the first garage.

Thos are just practise pit stops.

The constructors standings decide where the garages will be (order at the track) IIRC

Luca, there's something about him that is just different from other team bosses.

Yesterday during FP3, he went around shaking hands with our competitors, even stop by in Schumi's garage to shake hands with Schumi. i think its one of those gestures we see in other sports where after the match, they shake hands with the competitors as a "good game" gesture or something like that.

I think Luca just have this very good sportsmanship in him

Theres a reason for this. My mechanic friend in one of the teams told me the answer when i asked this question too. Purpose is for the drivers to lay more rubber to have better grip during race pit stops. They lay as much rubber down as the pitlane itself is very slippery before the friday sessions.

I thought it was a really lovely gesture from luca to ross and michael and showed that although they no longer work together there's stil a feeling of warmth and friendship between them.

Oh. I thought it was to remove the static electricity around the car by grounding it in those strips we see on the ground.
    Silently, like a shadow
