It was a heat of the moment thing. He was much more gracious in his interview after. Have you never done something in the heat of the moment that you later regretted?

An ugly moment but understandable in the heat of it all. Besides, afterwards he was much more diplomatic.

Yea, this is something I never liked of Fernando, he can't just take the heat of the moment and he has to show it...

But anyway, when he cools down he knows he didn't have to do that and apologises, but yea, it's still not nice of him.

I can post, but this is the true Alonso. At his postrace interview he is trying to repair his damaged reputation.

Alonso had just experienced maybe one of his lifetimes biggest dissapointments, so I think we should give him break this time. If I think about how furious I was during this race and still am, imagine how the drivers and team feels? It must be pure agony, so I understand Alonso had to vent it somehow.

Heat of the moment does not excuse this. Men beat their wives in the heat of a moment, people kill each other in the heat of a moment. It does not make things any more forgivable. Really pathetic behaviour.

Yeah just keep adding insult to injury and bash Fernando in the Ferrari support forum.

He just lost a championship in that moment.

I'm sorry, but you can't really compare Alonso's adrenaline and frustration to killing someone.

I don't think Alonso would kill Petrov.

Saying something happened in the heat of the moment is a cop out, an excuse.

You cannot excuse that pathetic showing from Alonso.

Refer to Massa 2008 Brazil on how to lose graciously.

    That is all.

I can understand how gutted Alonso must have been feeling, but it was a team mistake that seems to have cost him the title.

Petrov is racing for points, he's not paid to move over. Alonso's attitude is partly understandable but still its very unfair and very unsporting.

You always damage your damaged reputation when you try to repair your damaged reputation.

True, it was a bad gesture after. He'll probably appologise personally with Petrov.

It is actually a great comparasion for saying that "heat of the moment" doesn't make forgiveable the action, of course blaming someone isn't the same as beating your wife, but I don't think his point was to compare Fernando's behaviour with beating a wife anyway.

That would be more like Alonso trying to run over Petrov or crash into him at full speed, lol

I honestly find it amazing that people can try to defend Alonso over this.

And i find it amazing there is such a topic here. I would have done something worse probably then just showing a fist....but of course, i'm just human, while racing drivers should be robots.

    Really amazing.

No comfort at all. I've lost a lot of respect for Alonso after that stunt.

He deserves that loss of respect from anybody who thought he was a sportsman.

You never had any to begin with, but you respected MS through all his unsporting antics right

Not going to even enter a debate with you about it, you are just a troll, appear only to stick the knife in.

why? is it an ALonso only forum or is it a Ferrari forum? As a fan I can criticize our drivers or other team members.
