Yes Red Bull do have the resources, they developed to the last race in 2009 and still came out with the 2010 car, we gave up midway 2009 and still did not have a better car than Red Bull.

Red Bull clearly and demonstrably have the money and resources and that's how they garnered the talent that's got them where they are today. For me it's a matter of who interprets the rules better to their advantage / spots the (ultimately) legal loopholes and designs the better car for March. This is unfortunately where we seem to have lost out in the last 2 seasons. The real killer however is the testing ban. Testing was so vital to us and i don't think we've coped with the ban as well as the others as a result.

That said, our development during the season has been remarkable. Red Bull will only get stronger from now on however so we have a challenge on.

IMO, they don't have as much resources as we do. I think that they had exploited loopholes, like the Flexi-wing and Blown diffuser which was the main source of their performance.

It was more to do with Newey, and also, if we hadn't taken a long time on our f-duct, then i feel we could have been more on their performance this year. they waited a lot longer than us to implement it, and it was working for them.

Anyway, if there was testing, ourselves and McLaren would have caught up.

I forgot to mention the change of weight distribution. The loading will 45% to the front and 55% to the rear. Combine that with the weak rear Pirelli tyres but strong front Pirelli tyres, it should make the concept rather challenging.

    Actually it's 46/54

The maximum weight is 640kg. I doubt this includes fuel as there was only a penalty come race-day with the fuel. It would mean some cars were lighter during qualifying, so all cars have to have an equal weight in quali.

    KERS is optional.

    F-Dust is banned.

    Blown difussors will be legal.

Adjustable front wing is no longer an option (it ended up being used for the wrong purposes).

Pirelli tyres are still a little bit of an unknown as the finalised version has yet to be used.

Williams have opted to use battery KERS instead of flywheel.

KERS output will remain the same as the 2009 regulations of 60kw(set to increase in 2013 to 120kw).

Virtually everything else is the same as 2010 regs.
Bythe way what's F Dust and can I have some?

Greetings my friends!I am a new member from Turkey.Very very big Ferrari fan i am and i wonder what is the latest devolopments of our new Ferrari.I know it is very early to talk about it but who cares the time ha?=)
Okay,i think we will have the same flexible front wing and same exhaust systems.Nevertheless we have 3 fantastic engineers who are;Costa,Fry and Tombazis. They had talked the new tech regulations many times. So we must trust that thay will design a creative car.It is the most important point in my opinion cos if you dont have a creative systems like Redbull's wings, exhaust and Mclaren's f-duct you have to copy it fast. But hence we are going in true way.We learn how to improve the car. Also kers is back. When Redbull or Newey is try to understand how does it work we can make an effort our solutions on aerodynamics

Our Aero should be well suited to the new tyres as we had the best tyre degradation levels prior to the blown DD. We just need to create some damned downforce which should be easier to do this year as we now know what the best type of exhaust system/configuration is best for next years.... allowing for a more sculpted body. I hope there's a loophole in the reg's that'll allow us to blow hot air out the single deck diffuser (maybe someone can clarify this).

I have a good feeling that after 2 years in the development wilderness, we'll come back with some crazy looking designs. We have the designer of the Toyota that never raced which isn't much to base trust on but meh. On another note, the same designer who locked out the front row of bahrain in 2009 with an engine giving away 3 tenths a lap to the Brawn clad Merc engine so I have faith in Tobz.

FERRARI TO LAUNCH NEW CAR IN LATE JANUARY - MONTEZEMOLO

this isnt full, deleted parts that has been put up in other threads full article here
    http://www.onestopstrategy.com/daily...ntezemolo.html

Tuesday 14 December at 14:01 : Dec.14 (GMM) Ferrari's 2011 car will be launched officially in the week proceeding the first group winter test at the end of January.

That was one of the revelations made by Luca di Montezemolo on Tuesday as he met with the Italian press at Fiorano for a traditional pre-Christmas media event.

The Ferrari president said the F10's successor will be launched on January 25-31 -- before the first test of the pre-season at Valencia.

Asked to sum up the season, he told reporters: "We were disappointed, there's no point denying it.

"But, realistically, it was more bitter in 2008, when Felipe Massa crossed the finish line as world champion.

"From 1997 onwards, except 2005 and 2009, we have either won or lost at the last race. The opponents - Williams, McLaren, Renault, Red Bull - always change, only Ferrari is there," said Montezemolo.

On formula one, Montezemolo vowed to "fight for common sense, for races on circuits (not streets) and to have not more than 19 races, preferably 18", he revealed.

"And to have three cars. Better to have a third car with a competitive team than a team that cannot even do GP2," the 63-year-old charged.

"I think it's common sense and Bernie Ecclestone agrees. Who (would run the third Ferrari)? A small but competitive team."

Montezemolo hailed 2010 as Mark Webber's "best season with a competitive car".

But he played down the possibility of shock personnel changes for 2011, hinting only that "some adjustments" to the team will be announced before the new season.

As for the possibility of his near future being in politics, Montezemolo insisted: "The confidence vote (of the Italian parliament)? No comment.

"Let me do my job," he added when pressed. "I'm so glad we have many, many things to do here at Ferrari."

to be honest, i wasn't too fond of the re/white car this year at the beginning but throughout the year it GREW ON ME quite a bit.
i hope they keep the red/white for 2011
So the SF-24 has been a decent car. Lets hope that the totally redesigned from the ground up SF-25 contender will be a beast that will give us tifosi something to smile about.

It'll be kept red/white. Santander sponsorship will make sure of that.

Much prefer it anyway. All red was too bland imo.

Quick update on the 2011 car:

    Original Article - http://www.omnicorse.it/magazine/584...o-2011-estrema

    Translated bit:

So a series of interventions that can change the hierarchy 2010. Costa is aware of everything that is played in the next championships and breathe on my neck feels the presence of Pat Fry, deputy technical director came from McLaren, who in the organization chart of the Horse is installed between the technical manager of Parma and Nikolas Tombazis, chief designer of F10.

English has brought a wave of innovation: concepts and methods of work to be innervated in the structure of the Horse. Ferrari, in fact, decided to attack, to take those risks at a table in recent years have avoided.

The regulation was re-read in all its lights and shadows and seem to have found a couple of interesting solutions that would allow to recover much of the load will be lost with the regulatory restrictions. What is it? A Ferrari is the absolute silence. The order is to keep your mouth shut to prevent a leak of information could benefit the competition.
Ferrari wants to prove this to be mature to point to the 2011 World without great revolutions (though some adjustments in the staffing plan has already been planned, not just at the wall) and is focusing on new car to give a jolt to the environment.

According to rumors, Alonso was partly eased the disappointment of the World lost badly to Jas Marina, after seeing the contents of the long-awaited new car that should ensure a big leap to Ferrari. The new challenge is already launched. Newey and Vettel are warned ...
