looking at that vid, i wonder if the exhaust that is under those sidepods will put some heat that can harm the rear suspension?

PickupTrucks.com isn't naming names, but according to "sources familiar with the matter," Ford is planning to ask a court for an injunction against Ferrari over the use of the F150 name for its latest F1 car. And the Blue Oval's legal team could be submitting the appropriate paperwork as early as this week. [Source: Pickuptrucks.com]
Rest in Peace Leza, you were a true warrior...
I'd love to know how Ferrari are supposed to be gaining some sort of unfair business advantage by using a model number for a non-production racing car that happens to be the same as that of a mass produced American truck! I mean Ford are going to really lose out in sales with that one aren't they?
I heard that the designer of the original computer keyboard was going to sue Ferrari for using "F10" last year but they thought that might draw Bernie's attention to their long term illegal use of "F1" so they decided not to![]()

LOL, not sure, I just read it and posted it, it's still an unsubstantiated rumour so we'll wait and see.... it could be entirely false....

"Aerodynamics is for those who cannot manufacture good engines."
Looks like it is true.

Detroit— Ford Motor Co. sued luxury automaker Ferrari in federal court today, accusing the exotic sports car company of cybersquatting and trademark infringement for allegedly misappropriating the famous F-150 name.
The lawsuit stems from Ferrari naming its new Formula 1 racing car the "F150," and creating a Web site www.ferrarif150.com, according to paperwork filed in U.S. District Court in Detroit.

Ford has suffered irreparable harm to its F-150 trademark, the lawsuit says, and the Dearborn automaker's legal team wants a judge to block Ferrari from using the trademark in the U.S. That includes importing, manufacturing or selling any producing that uses the F-150 name.
Ford also wants unspecified damages and for Ferrari to give up any revenue and profits earned in the U.S. through the use of the F-150 name, according to the lawsuit filed by Southfield lawyer Marc Lorelli. And Ford wants $100,000 in damages pursuant to the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, which protects against Internet domain names that confuse the public over the true source of products and services.
A Ford spokeswoman could not immediately be reached for comment today.
Ford has used the F-150 name on its flagship, full-size pickup trucks since the 1975 model year.
The automaker obtained a trademark registration for F-150 in 1995, according to the lawsuit. Since 1997, gross revenues for the F-150 have topped $180 billion.
The lawsuit comes days after Ferrari announced it was naming the new Formula 1 race car the "F150," which is a nod to the 150th anniversary of the unification of Italy, according to the automaker's website.

Anyone who can't tell the difference between a truck and an F1 car isn't intelligent enough to drive a truck or watch F1And Ford wants $100,000 in damages pursuant to the Anticybersquatting Consumer Protection Act, which protects against Internet domain names that confuse the public over the true source of products and services.
If they think people will believe that Ferrari make trucks or Ford make F1 cars then good luck to them. They will no doubt win.
"Luna faccia schiaffo testa"
If this is true, I wonder why no one in Ferrari's legal department bothered trying to reach Ford to see if they would protest this designation before hand....
I don't think Ford has a leg to stand on with this lawsuit though, F150 is just a codename, it wont appear on any merchandise or anything.... I can't see Ferrari making money off the naming convention....

if ford's truck is the F-150 (mind the -) and Ferrari used F150...i don't belief they have anything to protest.
either way it's a dumb lawsuit, Ford is hardly going to lose anything over this.
Life might be hard, Concrete is a lot harder
not sure if this has been posted before, but i noticed this on youtube
Life might be hard, Concrete is a lot harder
Nicholas Tombazis speaks about F150th Italia:
- the front wing is actually the one from the last year and they have been wokring hard on the new one which should be quite different and should give qiute a big step forward compared to the old one
- the whole chassis is higher than in the past
- because of the raising of the chaais-height they had to redesign the front suspension
- these two changes have been carried out to ensure a better flow underneath the car
- the pilot seats a bit higher and also the air box is mounted higher whoch helps not to loose engine performance
- they have a new sidepods degsign and inbox which permits to undercut the sidepods
- KERS is mounted right under the fuel tank
- the rear suspension has been redesign to be able to design the reack end of the car so narrow, so thight as possible
- the exhaust is mounted at the back of the sidepods because they think this solution gives the most benefit as far as the blowing of the exhaust gasses are concerned
- the rear suspension is completely new, some of the internal elements have been removed forward in order to have a a very narrow back
- the new diffuser is much simplier and lower-mounted than on the F10 due to the rules
- they have been focussing on the new tyres that's why they used new dampers and some parts in the suspension they haven't used before.
