We weren´t to happy with the Pirellis, and the tirewear. Something with that?
Waiting for the track to rubber in some more?

Just because they aren't out on track doesn't mean they aren't testing. There is a lot of evaluation to be done that doesn't include driving around the track.

Sorry if i'm going on your nerves now but i'm tired of seeing a RB in front of us. For now i see the same picture for the start of the new season the old ended with. Not a sight i was waiting for.

And you are not the one having to endure german TV *sigh*

We were way ahead of them in testing last year. Look what happened during the season. The team said the wing package would be significantly different before Bahrain, maybe they are finalising things by testing with flo-vis. There's nothing to worry about, the team were confident yesterday, why wouldn't they be now?

    May be a hoax, i don't know:

"Redbull is running the renault exhaust system today."

Lotus Renault test their system (?):

And RB do the same (?):

Yeah you are getting on my nerves! Lol. It's only the 2nd day of testing. Testing not bloody qualifying!!
Besides even if the car was slow which i doubt.. What can we do about it? lol
Relax and enjoy having f1 back after the winter. I'm sure the team know what they are doing

Egads, looking at that Merc, it's like a flower power kid got hold of the grey family sedan and showered it with bright yellow, luminescent turquoise and iridescent red. Either that or dad came home after a heavy night and had a technicolor yawn over it before passing out. Imagine if the put the flow-viz on that? Or is it already on?

And on a side note, it's nice to see the gentlemanly Australian cricket team just handed out another beating to the visiting English thugs in the one-dayer in Sydney. Honestly, everyone on this planet knows one-day cricket is the true measure of a cricketing nation, while test cricket is for lesser primates

In response to the post above, suggesting that Red Bull are running the Renault exhausts...I'm not sure, but the rear of the car has definitely changed since yesterday.

Firstly, a small thing, the three sponsors at the rear - Renault, Siemens and Platform Computing have moved. The latter two were right up against the Red Bull sidepod logo yesterday.

Yesterday's car shows the exhausts exiting just behind platform computing, with heat shielding extending up just above the Siemens logo. Now, the heat shielding is the opposite side of Siemens and it's missing a black circular 'patch' just above the logo as well. Something has definitely changed.

[EDIT] They MUST have moved. Today, the two logo's are in a place they wouldn't have been able to be yesterday, due to the heat shielding. The bodywork is extended now, since the exhausts aren't there and therefore the logo's have been moved back.

    Rear end yesterday:

    And...

According to a report, the new McLaren will feature the innovative exhaust design system found on the Renault.
Meanwhile, Ross Brawn has admitted that Mercedes are "working on a similar solution" based around the Renault exhaust design

Well Ferrari said after they unveiled the car that they are testing "something with the exhaust". I think, it is something similar.

What's an F1 season without a team introducing something radical and all other teams scrambling to come up with their own copy

I was secretly hoping there won't be a repeat of those Double Diffuser or F duct thing, and teams actually focus on their own car and we'll see who comes up on top

I was secretly hoping this time it would be Ferrari coming out with some innovation others want to copy...

Fernando made one fast lap in 1.13.469 but the difference in 5 laps was +2,3 to the last one. Looks like a lot of tyre wear.

    1:13.469, 1:14.316, 1:14.740, 1:15.408, 1:15.470, 1:15.781

They are VERY limited on the number of tyres they have, so my guess is that they do a quickish lap and then just back off to save the tyres. They have one set for the morning and a set for the afternoon...or something like that, so it's hard to just bang in laptimes endlessly.

Maybe, but Fernando also said yesterday that there is a 'significant tyre wear'.

    1.13.307 now for Fernando.

Yes, but he's talking in general terms not just about the Ferrari. Everyone will be experiencing higher wear. The tyres are gripper, hence more degradation.

You are worrying far too much.

All teams have their own testing schedules and logically they aren't going to be the same. There are many components that will be focused on as is apparent by the times and behaviours we have seen so far They aren't interested in who is quickest on track atm so why we should place such importance on it by microanalysing is beyond me.

With the reveal of the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes MP4-26 just days away, we are delighted to announce that we have extended our partnership with banking giant Santander.

The Santander logo will continue to appear on Lewis’s and Jenson’s overalls, and this year on their helmets too, while Lewis and Jenson will in turn continue to appear in Santander’s advertisements and in marketing material within branches.

Ana Botin, Santander UK CEO, said: “We are delighted to sign an extension to our deal with Vodafone McLaren Mercedes. It is exciting to be able to continue working with Lewis and Jenson. The relationship we have built with the Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team and its drivers has been integral to creating and building the Santander brand in the UK. Without it, we would have not been able to rebrand to Santander last year.”

Vodafone McLaren Mercedes team principal Martin Whitmarsh said: “Santander has been a Vodafone McLaren Mercedes partner since 2007 and we are delighted to be working together in building a successful future for both brands. The continued support of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes’ partners is a critical element of the team’s success.”

Since its partnership with the team began in 2007, prompted awareness of the Santander brand has increased more than fourfold. Surveys have indicated that 93 per cent of people are now aware of the brand, whereas just 20 per cent were back in 2007.

Santander cites its association with 2008 world champion Lewis Hamilton in its advertising campaigns as one of the driving forces behind the huge growth in brand recognition.

Vodafone McLaren Mercedes have numerous long-standing partners and we are extremely proud of the relationships we have built over the decades. At the end of 2009, luxury Swiss watchmaker Tag Heuer celebrated 25 years as a team partner, while world-renowned fashion and lifestyle brand Hugo Boss is this year marking 30 years with the team.

Last October, title partner Vodafone expanded its involvement with the team, signing on as title partner and total communications partner of Vodafone McLaren Mercedes until the end of 2013.

They both disgust me. It's a shame that we have Santander logos on our car! I would not say all that if that bank would support Sauber for instance, cos that team really needs money, but mclaren? f'ck them!
