Your wish could come true. I posted this on another thread but hope I will be excused if I repeat the exercise.

Boullier also categorically ruled out the chances of Kimi Raikkonen or Nico Hulkenberg being given the drive, due to the Finn's rally commitments, and the young German's lack of experience.
...according to Autosport it's a no no.

Atleast someone thinks our wheel rim design is useful. Was beginning to feel a little left out there . When exactly is homologation done anyway?

More interesting than the times themselfs is fact, that Felipe did his fastest lap in the middle of the long stint (15th lap or so) but the others in first laps of much shorter stints (8 laps) and than they were lapping much slower.

Maybe is Ferrari really gentle to the Pirelli tyres

Felipe Massa was pleased with what had been achieved as he stepped from the cockpit of his Ferrari F150th Italia at the end of a busy day’s testing at the Andalusian circuit of Jerez de la Frontera. The Brazilian was able to do a lot of running, without the car experiencing any technical failures.

Slowing the progress of the programme however were interruptions caused by cars stopping out on track, especially in the afternoon. The time Felipe set in the morning of 1.20.709 proved to be unbeatable, even in the second part of the day, when the track was clearly slower. It meant he ended the day not just with the prize for the most laps – 101 completed, but also the best performance on the clock.

“I am pleased with today,” said Felipe, speaking to www.ferrari.com. “I was able to run continuously, without losing any valuable time. All those kilometres helped me get to know the car better and especially the tyres, an area where we were able to try different things to those we did in Valencia. The fastest time? It doesn’t mean anything, because we don’t know what trim the other drivers were running.”

Today, Felipe’s car, along with all the others, carried a message of support for Robert Kubica. “I am glad Robert is getting better: it was nice that we all had a note for him on our cars and again I wish all the very best.”

    Circuit: Jerez Circuit– 4.428 km
    Driver: Felipe Massa
    Car: Ferrari F150th Italia
Weather: air temperature 6/22°C, track temperature 6/28 °C. Sunny.

First day of testing for Scuderia Ferrari Marlboro and ten other Formula 1 teams, working from today until Sunday at the Jerez de la Frontera circuit, in southern Spain.

Felipe Massa was at the wheel of the F150th Italia. The Brazilian driver’s programme focussed on finding the best set-up for the car, on increasing understanding of the Pirelli tyres’ behaviour, aerodynamic testing and starts. Despite endless red flags which were especially prevalent this afternoon, Felipe was able to complete the planned programme, with any technical problems affecting the car. He completed a total of 101 laps, the quickest in a time of 1.20.709, the fastest overall on the day.

Testing continues at this circuit tomorrow, again with Felipe Massa on track.

No idea, sorry, but do we really need to have this felipe against fernando issue right now? I´d rather just enjoy to see Felipe on P1 today!

Jerez test Day 1: Massa on top, Renault seat is Heidfeld’s to lose

    by James Allen

Eleven of the twelve Formula 1 teams were out on track today at Jerez for the start of the second official F1 test ahead of the F1 season. Only HRT was absent. The team has opted to take part in a Pirelli filming event in Italy rather that test alongside the other teams this week in Spain.

Felipe Massa set the pace in the new Ferrari on the first of his two days in the car. He did not get as much mileage in the car as team mate Fernando Alonso in Valencia after an oil leak. The afternoon session saw quite a few red flag stoppages. Sergio Perez set the second fastest time in the Sauber.

Pirelli has all four of its current dry tyre specifications available to test this week, as well as the range of rain tyres. After the first test in Valencia there was some anxiety about the rate of degradation and it will be interesting to see how they behave at Jerez, which is a slightly faster track with warmer conditions. Today the track temperature was 33 degrees. The real acid test will come at the third and fourth official tests, however at Barcelona and Bahrain.

McLaren’s radical looking new car hit the track today for the first time with Lewis Hamilton at the wheel. They are still working through the bedding in process of new systems, KERS and adjustable rear wing which their rivals did last week. They will be hoping that the work they have done in the simulator building a sophisticated model of the Pirelli tyres, has given them a head start in assimilating the tyres. “The car feels good compared to last year’s, which is positive. It feels like a good step over MP4-25,” said Hamilton.

Today it was also announced that McLaren has renewed its partnership with Exxon Mobil, securing yet another of its major sponsors for the long term. McLaren has certainly cemented its commercial position in the last few months.

Force India was also working with its new car as was Virgin Racing, whose MVR-02 managed 42 laps.

Renault had Vitaly Petrov on track today. The Renault team has indicated that the seat left vacant by Robert Kubica’s accident is Nick Heidfeld’s to lose. The team says it wants an experienced driver and it is giving Heidfeld the chance this week to show he’s the man for the job. Only if he comes up short will the team look to one of the other possible candidates.

“Nick is here to be evaluated,” said Renault team boss Eric Boullier. “Once we have finished our assessment of him, if we are happy with Nick, then we keep Nick. If this had happened in the middle of the season, then the car would have been developed, and you could give a young driver some miles to educate him in Formula 1. But we have to develop this car from scratch, so the obvious choice of driver is an experienced one.”

But the team has also indicated that official reserve driver Bruno Senna will get a run this weekend in the car.

Daniel Ricciardo was out in the Toro Rosso, alongside Jaime Alguersuari. The Australian is the reserve driver for the team this season, but is there to put real pressure on the two race drivers.

Williams managed just 14 laps today with Pastor Maldonado following problems with the rear wing actuator.

Meanwhile tonight Ferrari has reacted to the law suit issued by Ford over the use of the name F150, which clashes with one of Ford’s best selling pick up trucks in the USA. Ferrari pointed out that its F150 is not commercially available, but to avoid any problems it will refer to it from now on as F150th Italia in all communications.

Yes it does, but I know not many agree, but I really really liked the red metallic we used from Monaco´07...that paintjob along with the white sponsorlogos in a light light gray silver metallic would be awesome...

09:16 But then the teams have just sat around for 25 minutes because of a single car in the gravel...

09:16 And here comes Schumacher - a busy track for the restart.

09:16 Glock comes out too. Sauber and Virgin are the only teams yet to set a time today.

09:15 Massa and Trulli are first to rejoin, followed by Perez, Button and Maldonado.

09:15 Back to green at last.

If it was done on a full tank and he was on the same set of supersofts he started the day on, without using KERS or the MRW then I'd agree it would be pretty good.

On the other hand if it was on a empty tank with new supersofts using KERS and the MRW it would be bad.

Lap times mean nothing for now ......

Schumacher regains the top spot with a 1m20.352s, the fastest time of the week so far

Massa has closed in on Schumacher's time: 1m20.413s
I had a very speedy start and at each lap I repeated my search in the mirror, but in vain: I couldn't see the P2.
