LDM sees Seb @ Ferrari & tried to get Newey!

LDM has predicted that Vettel will drive for Ferrari. It is also reported that he tried to head-hunt Adrian Newey!

I'm a huge Massa fan, but, I got to admit that the prospect of a Fernando/Sebastian team is pretty attractive.

Also, the bit about trying to nick Newey, that probably shows just how far Ferrari/LDM are willing to go to get back on top. Another 1999-2004 era would do me, thank you very much

Montezemolo predicts future Ferrari Formula 1 drive for Sebastian Vettel
    Thursday, 23 December 2010 07:50

Luca di Montezemolo is predicting a future Ferrari drive for the new reigning Formula One World Champion.

Earlier in 2010, en route to becoming the sport's youngest ever champion with Red Bull, 23 year old Sebastian Vettel described Ferrari as "special", adding: "Why not go there in a few years?"

The German is under contract with Red Bull for 2011, with an option to extend into 2012.

Cologne tabloid Express reports that Ferrari Chairman di Montezemolo sees Vettel as a natural successor for the struggling Felipe Massa.

"Sebastian is fast, intelligent and young," said the 63 year old Italian. "He will drive a red car sooner or later."

The team owner of Vettel's current team, Dietrich Mateschitz, said a month ago: "Seb wants to drive for Ferrari some day. We will make it as difficult a decision for him as possible."

Express also reports that di Montezemolo recently made an offer to entice Red Bull designer Adrian Newey to Ferrari. Newey reportedly turned the offer down.

Express- i was close to stop reading after this, but then i saw that Marko said 'why should Sebastian have to deal with Alonso? We all know how it is at Ferrari...'

Does this mean that Ferrari doesn't have a full confidence in their lead designer?

Seb at Ferrari is a joke.

He will be treated equally - so Alonso will destroy him. Vettel will not accept this and will run back to Red Bull.

Fernando will make way for Sebastian WHENEVER IT HAPPENS. Atleast from what I understand of our team.

I'd like to see Monte's reaction if Vettel would say about his team-mate 'if he needs help there are medical cars at the track' while driving for Ferrari...

IMO i do see him in a Ferrari in the future, but probably after we've won many titles with our present pairing.

Vettel would only make that mistake once. After Luca got through explaining to him how that doesn't happen at Ferrari, I'm sure SebVet would be a nice, polite young man.

Hmm Somehow I don't think Seb would move over if he got the message "Fernando is faster than you" I think he would radio back saying "catch me if you can"
He may not stay long in the red car unless by then he is the finished article the young Schumi-----move over Nando

he will 1 day drive for us, not yet, another 1-2 years he will. He has said it out in public he would like to drive for Ferrari. Right now though, we have no place for him. This is hate to say it Fernando's team. Atmo, we have the best drivers on grid.

He's still with Ferrari in some capacity. Design Consultant I think? I think Rory is doing just exactly what he wants now, and that's the best Ferrari (or anyone, maybe noone else) were going to get him to agree to.

Seb at Ferrari would definitely happen in a couple of years. My guess is in 2013. Hate to say but Massa could be out of Ferrari by then...

I honestly cannot stand his face and finger. Stuff him, I'm sure Felipe will pickup his game and return to the 2008 form he once was. This current Ferrari pair is just AWSIM:xmascool: But the decision is up to people in power of the team and they know best!

I am wondering if LdM anticipates the kind of firecrackers we’ll have if Alonso is paired with Seb finger

On a completely different angle, it would feel like old times hearing the German and then Italian anthem on the podium. Every race Vettel won last season I still expect the Italian anthem after the German one. Those were the days at Ferrari

You will have to wait a bit. For now, its my favourite driver in my favourite team, and will hopefully be for many years to come!

And since Fernando said in one of his latest interviews he wants to stay with Ferrari for the next 10 years....i'm probably the minority here but i think Vettel should just stay where he is. Or come aboard in 10 years.

Agreed. If Massa won't step up his game, he is going to have to find another team to be in.

Remember the fuss at McLaren when Alonso did not get what he thought he should have there? I dread to think how high he would throw his handbag if Seb got going in a red car!! Seb should stay where he is while Alonso has a seat at Ferrari.

yeah, Seb should stay where he is cos he aint good enough yet. His handbag has been thrown just as high as Alonso's - or did you not notice?

To replace Alonso would be good. As for Ferrari rolling, what about the time they "lost" Eddie Irvine's wheel. He lost out on the WDC and Schumi managed to hold onto it.
Even the great Juan Manuel Fangio warned John Surtees in the '60's that Ferrari is a dangerous place and only the careful survive.

Schumi was out with a broken leg in 99, not sure what your point is or why you are here though Ferrari is a dangerous place? oooooh no danger, thank you for the warning we should alert Maranello right away.......

Right so you are on here, (A Ferrari fan forum) calling Ferrari a dangerous place? I wonder how well that is going to go down.
