Australian Grand Prix 2011 - Race Thread

Well I thought I'd start one, seeing I'm not too sure what time it's going to be here when the race starts due to the clocks going forward

Here's to yet another fantastic F1 season, with all its ups and downs, highs and lows (and I'm sure there will be some).

We've all missed the F1 Circus though the winter and if you're like me I can't wait to get up at stupid o'clock tomorrow morning, lay in bed with my lucky pants on and my cuppa and watch what should be a fantastic race.

Good luck to the Team and to the Drivers.......Bring it on I say....

Well, the race happens to be in Sunday, and we all know Alonso prefers to beat them on Sunday

A bad dress rehearsal usually precedes a good performance.
Let's hope that's also true for Ferrari to-morrow.

Good luck Team and boys.......just do your best and at least get some points. Don't think it will be too bad in the race itself (eternal optimist)!

It should be an epic race, with so many unpredictable variables, just hope we're right in the sharp end of things.

Forza Fernando! Forza Felipe! Forza Ferrari!

And for us in the UK, BBC One's coverage starts 6am BST (not GMT).

i'd like to be optimistic, and say that FERNANDO will finish at least 2nd....and who knows, maybe even WIN....i know it's a long shot, but really anything is possible

FORZA triple F....Fernando, Felipe and Ferrari
So the SF-24 has been a decent car. Lets hope that the totally redesigned from the ground up SF-25 contender will be a beast that will give us tifosi something to smile about.

I'm hoping for a strong points finish from our boys in red, and if we can be there at the end for a spot or two on the podium, so much the better!!

One thing is for sure. it will be a crazy race.

Now, the team feeling sweetest of all will be McLaren. Nobody gave them a chance, but now theyre mixing it up at the front. That makes their return to form all the more sweeter.

So, after that quali, if we take the win, because of some craziness, it will be amazing.

I did wonder that as well, so I just changed the date so that it definitely won't change automatically.

Most of the newer phones should adjust it automatically... my iPhone surely does!

I think "all" cell phones change the time automatically, because they are part of a network!
I know mine did a couple of weeks ago when we went to DST!

Which reminds me, the race starts at 2.00 a.m. here; I should get a couple of hours shut eye!

am so nervous and too hyped to sleep.. feel sick.

I'd dearly love a 1: Massa 2: Schumi 3: Heidfeld finish although thats a pipe dream and I suspect it will be 1: Vettel 2: Hamilton 3: Alonso :(

Good luck everyone.. fingers crossed.. come on Massa mate, show us how good you are!

Keepin my fingers crossed we have to do one less pit stop than the RBs and Mcs.

PS Go to f1.com and click the "convert to my local time" button, and it will show you when the GP starts in your zone, assuming your computer has the correct time of course.
