It looks like racing in wet for Alonso...

And no FW/nose flexing at all.

Just found this other link - check the video on that page, it is great: about 13 mins of onboard takes showing most of the action, incluing the Massa-Button fight and most of the overtakings

That was driver capability I guess. Car is about 1.4 sec down on Vettel's Q3 pace. I hope these were minor issues like set up correction etc. Flexi wing alone can not get you 1.4 seconds, and that is despite Ferrari having top two FL's of the race

Flexi wing apparently gives 5-6 tenths, and when you get (hopefully) a better track surface, you should get maybe 4 or 5. then if we get the balance sorted, we can get even better. I dont know these fifures for sure, but i am feeling positive.

Car looks so nervous in corners, Alonso is almost wrestling with that car. I hope your postive feeling comes out true, but still long way to go, no way Flavio is right

Oh yeah. Remember how Merc had the best top speed last year? Look how Fernando just glided past him. i know that it was DRS, but Button couldn't use his well enough against Massa.

And the teams with our engine were consistently the fastest through the speed trap. So, our top speed is encouraging. God Merc and Renault are lucky there is an engine freeze. IMo it is the only way they are competing on the engine front.

Anyway, the car does look wayward i'll admit that. but think when we get it sorted out, we may 'unlock potential' as Martin says.

These clips are fascinating. The shere dogged persistence of Alonso is like a tiger hunting down its prey. And Massa- well, to my mind he made JB's comment that he was 'sooo slow' look pretty silly. Just good defensive driving. Well done guys!

Alonso is on a mission this year, he's driving that car by the scruff of its neck. The car needs to improve asap.

Wooow, I think he was really on the limit when passing Kobayashi on the outside.

The car is a ?, of course we can't expect to see a Ferrari on pole in Malaysia but is might be not as bad as Australia. Problem is Red Bull is going to be fast there too.

    QFTT

When they switched to Button onboard it was like night and day. Could Vettel finish 4th in a car like that with 3 stops? I wouldn't put money on it. Alonso is still the best driver in the world IMHO. Hopefully we do get the car sorted out so we can take cocky Vettel down a few notches.

Berger agrees with you (summary translation quoted from from Gold Coast @ForoCoches - but I am sure that our German speaking friends here can add something!):
    http://www.motorsport-aktuell.com/au...t-3569996.html

A few highlights translated from the interview:

    - Vettel will be hard to beat with this car.

    - Alonso is currently the best driver. He has reached the zenith. Sebastian is not the best yet because he is younger and less experienced. He lacks the technical experience of Alonso.

    - Brawn is a technical manager, not a designer like Adrian Newey or John Barnard or Rory Byrne. Back then Byrne developed innovatively Schumacher's Ferrari, adapted the car to his driving style and won championships that way. This person today is missing at Ferrari, at Mercedes and at most other teams. That is why Red Bull is so strong.

    - Schumacher's statements after the Barcelona tests were clear, they would be going after Red Bull. (Melbourne's) results were disappointing. They lack the artist who designs the car and has a vision.

    - Malaysia is aerodinamically even more challenging and therein lies the strength of Red Bull. Therefore they will be even more dominant. And they haven't even used KERS - they still have reserves.

    Thank you very much.

Guys, pay attention to Vettel's first stop. They change the tyres in a blink, that's worth a win when the race is really tight. I think this is another area Ferrari didn't excel in Australia.
