Not trying to hijack the thread but I thought I would post mine up as well. Nowhere near as good as the OP's but hey, what do you want from a not-very-fancy camera?

First link is a Ferrari-related album, the other is a general highlights package from the 2000 photos I took

I'd have to agree with you. I have made an effort to see more of the off-track displays each year I go and this year made the effort to head up to the Cafe and check it out. There is just so much to see and do that you miss out on.

I don't want to get all mooshy but I think my favourite part of the weekend is the fact that everyone is so friendly regardless of the merchandise that you are wearing. Working in professional sport, rivalries between fans can be quite nasty but in Melbourne, noone seems to care and everyone talks to everyone else about anything. I can honestly say that I have not had a negative experience going to the Grand Prix in Melbourne...apart from the traffic jam of planes trying to leave the airport on Monday morning =P.

Are the other GPs like this?

    Hey Modza.
I use a Canon 400D, abit old but it does the job. Hooked up a 300mm lens and used it in manuel mode. I also used a monopod which is very important for focusing and helps with your panning.
On each photo on Flickr you can find the shooting details on the right hand side by clicking on Canon 400D

Glad you all liked them. I was very glad to be able to take them! I wish i could go to the grand prix every year and do that.

    Ciao.
